Happy Birthday America

I hope you are all enjoying your 4th of July celebrations with family and friends.  Today I wanted to share with you a fun shaker card I created to go in my Project life album.

When I saw this All American flair set and matching Star Spangled confetti mix from TheCraftyPickle shop I knew I was going to create a fun shaker card with them.

To create my shaker card I started with a 4×6 white card with rounded corners, I used my steel dies to cut out a few star shapes.

Then I cut a piece of clear plastic acetate 1/4″ smaller than the 4×6 card base.

I attached the clear plastic to my card with some 1/4″ foam tape.  This creates the pocket for my confetti.

I then add a little liquid adhesive to my base and sprinkle a few stars down so they are stationary. Once dry I then add a lot more of my star mix, these will move around inside my shaker pocket.

To finish the pocket I attach another 4×6 card to the back on top of the foam tape, creating the pocket.

To complete my card, I inked and attached the star shapes that I cut out to make the windows. Last but certainly not least I added my two flair buttons from TheCraftyPickle.

I love this fun interactive card… I could shake it all day.

Happy Card featuring Color Pop flair

Hi Carrie here to share with you today a fun Birthday card I created using some of my favorite flair embellishments from #TheCraftyPickle

The flair I used is from the Color Pop line from The Crafty Pickle.  There are nine different sets of Color Pop flair in a rainbow of colors.  These flair embellishments are the perfect embellishment for any layout, card or crafty project.  I just love how versatile they are.

I started with a cut out banner card. I traced out the banner with a pencil then stamped HAPPY into each banner

Then I colored in each banner with my Spectrum Noir color pencils in a rainbow pattern.

To Create my Balloon bouquet I used my Ranger circle blending tool and Distress ink The colors I used are spun sugar, spiced marmalade, tumbled glass, mustard seed and mowed lawn.

I added some twine to the back of my flair buttons with 3D foam squares. Then I clustered my flair in a Balloon Bouquet tied with a bow.  I think my card came out super cute.

Be sure to pop over the TheCraftyPickle shop and pick up some Color Pop flair for your next Crafty project.

Beautiful Butterfly Watercolor flair.

Good Morning Happy Scrappers.

Today I am going to share with you a quick Birthday card I created using a beautiful watercolor Butterfly flair from #TheCraftyPickle Etsy shop

I love creating my own backgrounds using Adirondack alcohol inks

First thing I did was to squirt two colors of the alcohol ink onto my splat mat and then add some blending solution. This helps to spread the ink around.  Then I just laid my glossy card stock right on top of the ink.

I love the watercolor affect this technique creates.

Once my card base was dry I stenciled some white clouds and then stamped my Happy Birthday sentiment by Technique Tuesday.

To complete my card I layered some pretty pattern papers onto my card base, added my beautiful Butterfly flair and tied some silver floss around the center.

Crafty Pickle flair is the perfect embellishment for beautiful greeting cards.  Be sure and stop by The Crafty Pickle Etsy shop

Handmade Graduation Cards by Carrie

Today I have a treat for you,  this post will be a collaboration of TheCraftyPickle and HoneyBeeScraps used to create four Graduation cards.
This is a great pairing.  I love HoneyBeeScraps stamps and  CraftyPickle flair so using them together on these cards was a natural choice for me.
I needed to create four Graduation cards for up coming Grads in my life. One being my daughter Hannah. This is the card I created for her using some custom flair from TheCraftyPickle.  I love that Taniesa can create any theme or logo specific to your needs.  It adds that special touch no store bought card can provide.  I also used my HoneyBeeScraps Life Right Now stamp set on the banner of this card.  “Remember this moment” is the perfect sentiment.
For my next card I decided to use the fun
from TheCraftyPickle shop.  I created a shaker card.  I think this is going to be a big hit with my niece.  It was lucky for me that both schools have Red, White and Black for their school colors. This card is embellished with a a flair button from the Graduation set too.
IMG_0137Switching it up a bit I also needed to make a card for one of my good friends daughter who’s school colors are Teal, black and white.  For this card I stamped the sentiment “Celebrate” also from the “Life Right Now” Stamp set from HoneyBeeScraps. I embellished this card with some sparkle and another TCP flair from the Graduation set.
Lastly I needed an 8th Grade Promotion card.  This one is a bit cutesy.   I had this cute 3D Owl embellishment from Jolee’s Boutique, it had a little colorful banner already attached but I wanted to add my nieces name Tori, so I stamped out the little banner from the “Not Too Shabby” stamp set. I then fussy cut it out and colored it in with a red marker. To personalize it I added her name with a white paint pen. I love the way it turned out.  I also created the background on this card by repeatedly stamping the word celebrate and some tiny stars in red and black ink.  These are stamps from the “Life Right Now” set. The tiny icons in this set are perfect for this technique. To complete my card I added a 2015 TCP flair and a few star sequins.

I hope I have inspired you to create some fun cards for the Graduate in your life.  You should check out TheCraftyPickle  and  HoneyBeeScraps shops to pick up your own fun flair or sweet stamps and get to crafting.
Until next time
