Trinity Stamp’s Winter Release is here!

Trinity Stamps Blog Hop Banner

I am So excited to tell you that Trinity Stamps has finally released another fabulous line of Stamps, Dies, and LOTS of embellishments. There are also lots of new shop items added (plus more coming this week!).

If you don’t already know, we started the new release off with a blog hop on Friday and the fun is still happening! If you are coming to my blog for the first time be sure to click the links at the bottom of my post to go through both days of blog hop inspiration. Don’t forget to comment along the way because, friends…. there is prizes, FIVE of them. All of them are worth at least $25 (and some a lot more) Winner will be announced HERE on November 10th!

Now on with the show…

Today I am playing with our new Magical Wizards stamp set, a few stamps from the Wizard Friends set, Magical sentiment stamp set, magical sentiment die set, and the stars from the stand-alone castle builder die set. I am also incorporating some sentiments from Caffeinated Sentiments.

I was inspired by a Starbucks gift card I found. I thought it was absolutely perfect to pair with the Trinity Magical Wizards + Series.

So I started coloring the wizard’s head from Magical Wizards, and then one of the robes from wizard friends. I did some simple copic coloring and because I didn’t want white showing around my image, I opted to fussy cut instead of die cut. I cut the body off except for a piece that will glue behind the robe. I attached the two pieces with my Nuvo Smooth Precision glue and voila! Wizard is (almost) card ready!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release9

I had made a green background by blending some various shades of Distress Oxide ink and then to make a floor to ground our character, I blended some ink into cardstock then ran it through a WRMK woodgrain embossing folder. I tried doing this with markers and drawing the floor in but it was taking away from my wizard scene too much so this was a much more subtle option.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release10

I put some foam tape on the back of the wizard and set him and the floor piece aside.

Then came the embossing. I took several colors of WOW embossing and embossed all of the star, sparkle, and shine images from all three sets (Magical Wizards, Wizard Friends, and Magical Sentiments). As I was making my way through the swirl of stars and swooshes, I die cut different sizes of hearts from the Castle Builder die set.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release11

once all the stamping and embossing was done, I took a damp rag and went along the stary magic trail and gave it even more texture. There were a few spots that still needed something so I took my embossing pen and added some dots here and there.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release2

I added a sentiment from Caffeinated Sentiments, one of my personal fave… it was so appropriate given the fact a gift card was going inside.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release3

I added a little Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer pen by Nuvo to the red part of the robe the wizard is wearing and I even embossed his wand gold.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release1

Such a fun card right. I made the card 3×6 to fit these gold envelops I picked up at my local stamping store. I like the fun size, a nice change from the A-2 cards I usually make… But wait, there’s MORE!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release5

Remember about that gift card I was telling you about? Bam! you’re magical! how perfect is THAT! I did a little stamp surgery so that I could make the sentiment ” Coffee and friends make a magical blend) In the Caffeinated sentiments, there is one that says Coffee & Friends make the perfect blend. All I had to do was snip off the make and the blend.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release7

I stamped the first part directly to the card and the make a & Blend was stamped on a strip of white cardstock and then cut. I die cut the two layers of the magical sentiment die set (you can also use the stamp set to stamp in that shadow layer die) I glued those pieces to a very simple gold glitter pocket I made to hold the card.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release6

Starbucks usually has fun seasonal and celebratory gift cards and so does a lot of other places, especially this year. How much fun is it to receive a gift inside a handmade card (which is a gift also!) Now is a great time to make a few of these types of cards to have on hand when you need to gift a card to someone.

Trinity Stamp’s GRAND OPENING blog hop!

Hi Friends!
Whew, It has been a very LONG time since I last posted here on the Crafty Pickle blog! Some of you might have been wondering where I went off to? Am I still crafting? Am I still BREATHING? LOL well, I assure you I am in fact breathing, however, I haven’t been crafting near as much as I would like but all for a really good reason! I have been busy preparing to launch a brand new company…

New Release! New Stamp Company! www.trinitystamps.com

Trinity Stamps has been on my heart for years and finally… today is the BIG day! It’s our official grand opening! We are launching with 9 new stamps and 8 matching dies! If you haven’t already seen the entire release you have to check it out at http://www.TrinityStamps.com.

Lady Liberty: A 3x4 stamp set from www.Trinitystamps.com

For today’s blog hop I created a project with the adorable 3×4 Lady Liberty stamp set. I also snuck in a sentiment from the Hello Sweet Friend stamp set. I thought the scripty font fit well with this little lady!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps 5

I colored her with some aqua copics, I thought it was fitting with it being Trinity Stamps Signature color! I used BG10, BG11, BG23, and a little bit of BG49 in the darkest shadows. Coloring this image was a breeze! Davina, the artist behind this particular stamp has made it very easy to color, She has drawn all of the folds and pleats for you. It made this very enjoyable to color! I can’t wait for the 30 day coloring challenge (which starts tomorrow! YAY!) so I can color the rest of the Trinity Stamp’s new release!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps

After I colored Lady Liberty and cut her out using the matching Die… I created a background scene by cutting some cityscape dies I had on hand and I used distress oxide inks plus a stencil to do some fun fireworks in the background. After coloring the background of where the fireworks were going to be, I laid down the stencil and used some Bo Bunny glitter paste. I love how sparkly everything is!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps 3

Once the background was dry, I added some rhinestones as well as some stars and other confetti from the Trinity Stamps Lady Liberty confetti mix. I love all the cute tiny stars, especially the 4 point ones!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps 11

To finish it all up I stamped the Missing You sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. Everything was accented by a little silver glitter paper. I think it tied it all in nicely, don’t you?

I also created a fun birthday coffee card using the Coffee with Character stamp set and dies  as well as the caffeinated sentiments stamp set for the Coffee Lovers Blog hop. That post can be found on the Trinity Stamps blog HERE but here is a photo of the card project.

Happy Stamptember! HBS and SSS Colab: Remarkable You

Hi Everyone!

I am quickly stopping by to share a few cards I made using the Honey Bee Stamps and Simon Says Stamp Stamptember Collaboration set: Remarkable YOU!

All of the cards are hand painted using Daniel Smith Watercolors which are now available at Simon Says Stamp and I stamped the sentiments using the new Remarkable you stamp set. There is also a die set available and you can find that HERE. (affiliate links used where available at no charge to you)

For the card with the painted spots I used some of the Leaf stamps that are in the new Honey Bee Stamps Bushel and a Peck stamp set. You can find this at Simon Says Stamp or in the Honey Bee Stamps shop HERE.

On the card above I used some shimmery watercolor over my watercolor painting… the fine tec rainbow and gold pallets are my favorites! Check them all out HERE.

I love the soft green of these cards. I used the leaf again from Honey Bee Stamps Bushel and a peck stamp set to create the stem.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Make sure you check out all of the Stamptember items in the Simon Says Stamp shop HERE.

Have a great weekend!

Spring Bunny Card | Designed for Kat Scrappiness

Greetings, Friends!

Today I have a Spring card to share with you all, although you could easily adapt this to use for easter. The stamp set I will be using is Bunny Hop from Newton’s Nook and the dies I will be using is the double stitched rectangle and the Stitched Scallop nesting dies both from Kat Scrappiness.

To start my card I took my watercolors and my watercolor powders (I used brusho) and painted a simple rectangle to resemble grass and sky. Instead of adding water to my paint I used a bit of shimmer spray.

While the background was drying, I painted my little bunny with some Daniel Smith watercolors. I did three layers of color on the terra-cotta pot to add shading and depth.

Once everything was dry, I fussy cut the image and went over the image with a black marker. This hides any imperfections I had when cutting.

I cut out the watercolor background paper with the second largest of the Stitched Scallop nesting dies and assembled my little bunny scene. I added some suggested flowers here and there as I felt it needed just a bit more “something” and this felt like it completed the scene.

I cut the largest rectangle with my Double Stitched rectangle dies out of Easter Express 6×6 paper from Doodlebug. I chose a tone on tone print so that it didn’t compete with the focal image.

So I will be honest, I couldn’t find my stamping press in my craft room (I think it’s time for some crafty spring cleaning) So I dug out my old stamp positioner. Remember those? It worked great for stamping my sentiment in the corner of the card.

Then I took a .35 drawing pen and drew a border around my panel. on the inside of the stitching. I attached the tag to the printed panel with some foam tape  and then glued the finished panel to a top fold card base. As a final touch I added some Clear sequins and some 6mm Heart confetti with Glossy Accents with up from my sequins and gem pick up tool.

Check out the Spring/Easter section at Kat Scrappiness for even more product inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you were inspired to create something Spring-y! As always the supplies I used are listed below.

You Color My World

Hi Sweet Friends!!!

I am excited to share with you my first official design team project for Honey Bee Stamps. I have had the pleasure of doing some guest work for HBS in the past, but I am so excited to be apart of what is an extremely talented team!

Today I will be working with the Color My World stamp set. It’s an adorable 4×4 stamp set that just reminds me of the current coloring book craze.

Colormyworld by HoneyBeeStamps.com

What spoke to me when I saw this stamp set is a card I knew I wanted to make for my daughter. Every birthday and christmas, for as long as I can remember, I have given her a coloring book. Far before the amazing coloring books that are available currently.  I would search and search for the perfect one ( in the past I would buy her a lot of coloring books from Dover) With her birthday coming up I knew this would be the perfect card to go with the new coloring book that I got for her.

I decided to go with a non traditional card size. I picked up these cute envelopes from my LSS that are 3 1/2 x 6 1/2. My card panel measures 3×6 and my card is 3 1/4 x 6 1/4 unfolded. The card base is Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock and the panel is Strathmore Bristol 300 series. This size envelope is perfect for making cards from a 6×6 paper pad!

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

First I stamped all of the images using Tsukineko VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I love this ink because it gives a crisp bold black line and it is waterproof. I did a little masking but not too much. I first stamped the sentiment and then the florals and leaves. I tried to stamp using a visual triangle to balance the card.  After I had everything stamped, I measured out a 1/4 inch border around the entire card.

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I sketched the border lightly in pencil so that I could erase easily. Sometimes I am just not careful enough. While I was doing all the inking, I got some smudges and inky fingerprints on my card (sad face).

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

Now when something like this happened before I would more than likely start all over, but I found an amazing eraser that cannot live without now!

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

The Tombow MONO Sand Eraser is a magic wand!! You just lightly rub the mistake/smudge with the eraser, and if you rub off some of your inked up image you just go over it with a waterproof pen/marker. I used my trusty Sakura Pigma Micron pen (I used the .05 here but you can match up your stamp line width to the different size micron pens available).

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I thought I would break out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers for this project. They haven’t been getting enough love lately and I love using them on the bristol cardstock. I used a light, medium, and dark shade of all the rainbow colors (Some color groups had 4 shades because I couldn’t decide) but any color combo would look lovely. The technique I used for this card is called “spotlight coloring”. The 1/4 border that I made around the edge will be colored with shades of gray and the inside will be the vibrant color. This really pops the color in the center of the card and emphasizes the sentiment of “Coloring my world”.

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

With the border, I colored and shaded the images with all gray markers. I shaded these just like I would with the different shades of colored markers. Even if you don’t have a wide range of the brush markers I would recommend picking up at least one Gray Clean Color Real Brush marker as it is perfect for adding a shadow to stamped images and text. Now on to the fun part!

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I colored in all of the florals and leaves with the markers and chose a very light shade of blue for the inner rectangle background. I left the border background white. It was at this point that I felt that my sentiment didn’t pop out enough. I decided to take a darker shade of blue and color around the sentiment area making that more of a focal point.

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I also added some glitter using my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Brush Pen in clear. It is hard to see in the photo but it really made the word COLOR super sparkly! I added some faux stitched outline on my card base and popped up my panel with some fun foam so it is slightly raised. I used the full panel of fun foam as it will be going through the mail and I didn’t want it to get smooshed.

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I think it’s the little details that really make a handmade card something really special. I took the smallest floral stamp in the set, and stamped the lower right and the upper left corners with a cluster of just the flower, then I outlined them with a grey marker to give a shadowed effect.  I was on a roll and couldn’t stop there so why not dress up the back of the card and the envelope too!

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

The same idea as the inside of the card. I took  the medium size floral and stamped the corners of the envelope and outlined in gray. I decided to leave these just black and white because I wanted the card to be the center stage of color. I will position the postage just to the left of the floral cluster and I think it will add a great touch when it is all addressed and ready to go.

Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

The handmade stamp was a custom stamp (Coming to The Crafty Pickle Etsy shop SOON) and I added the small daisy and leaf stamp from the set to tie it into the card design. This one I did color. I felt it added the perfect final touch.

Here is a look at my final card.

I hope you enjoyed my first Honey Bee Stamps DT Project, and even more I hope my daughter loves this card! I can’t wait to give it to her (Lexi if you read this blog post just act surprised LOL)

Snowy Pocket page with flair

Hi Carrie here.  Today I am sharing with you a pocket page that I created for my dear friend’s Birthday.

With the last name of Snow and a December birthday I thought this page would be perfect for her.

I used the Doodlebug designs Frosty Friends collection for this project.

Of course I had to add some CraftyPickle flair  and Pickle relish sequins when embellishing some of the cards.

The Winter set is perfect for this snowy page.

I pray that you and your family have a happy and warm winter.

Happy Scrappin’

Celebrating with Flair

Hi crafty friends! It’s Stephanie here today from Bits & Pieces (& Scraps) to share my latest crafty projects.

I know the holiday season is upon us, but in the midst of all the seasonal chaos, we have a daughter who celebrates a birthday (two weeks before Christmas)! So in preparation for her big day, I made two birthday projects. The first is a birthday layout featuring the new gold foil flair button:

so very happyIMG_1610

I adore these foil buttons oh so much!

My next project is a small gift bag:

gift bag

I use the hearts flair button here to adorn the fabric rosette and I love the way the gift bag turned out! It’s perfect for holding a gift card, nail polish or any other treasures a 13 year old girl would cherish!!
