Croppin’ at the Expo!

Hi you guys!

I’m excited to share another Project Life layout this week and I decided to document another Scrapbook Expo from 2014 for my first page in August.

Yes 2014. Don’t judge. I’m THAT behind but that only means I have lots and lots to create with right? 🙂

I couldn’t wait to use my customized flair for this spread!

I used the new Dear Lizzy Documentary line to compliment The Crafty Pickle yummies!!

IMG_6429

Stop it. Isn’t the flair adorable? We had a blast at the Crop and we shopped and literally dropped at midnight.

IMG_6428

I love using the glitter tape because that glitter ain’t movin’ for nothin’! I usually cut the tape in half because I like thinner strips to accent. My title card deserved Relish mix 😉

IMG_6426

I like applying washi to my wood veneers and was just about to do that when I forgot I picked up some “potty people” diecuts from Hobby Lobby on clearance! I used some of the black heart washi from the shop and put it on top of the diecut like i would the veneer and cut around. Voila! Custom embellishments!

IMG_6427

Paula and I found a HUGE Daiso and we went crazy inside. I love using these Pickle Spots on my cards. The different shades are so nice because you are bound to find the right color for your project or planner layout.

Isn’t the road washi and Pit Stop flair perfect? I thought so too.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Sorry I don’t have a process video up this week but life has hit me hard this past week and I just picked myself back up!

I did film a quick video for my subbies and I hope you stop by!

Supplies used:

Back to School

Hey there it Treasa with another Project Life Kids post.

I can’t believe how fast the summer has gone by and that school starts this week. My granddaughter Kaylee will be going into the second grade and I wanted to create something I could use in my PL album to document this exciting time. I wanted to not only document the normal things, like first day of school photo, teachers name and school. I wanted to capture a piece of Kaylee during this time. So I created a card for her to fill out to capture some aspects of her life right now. To keep it personal I had a personalized flair made with her name and her grade. I thought it was the  perfect finishing touch. Here is what I came up with:

Back to school 2015I created a file pocket to kind of represent the files kept in the cabinet at school and added some of the star washi tape from the shop to the front of the file pocket. I added a card that says Star Student, this will be a place to put her first day of school photo on. Then I added a Friends card for her to add her friends names. I also used some of the new star and heart Sticky Pickle Spots from the shop. And then on the bus die cut I put her bus number. Finishing it off I used the personalized flair from the shop that says “Kaylee Grade 2”.

Back to school 2015aI have to say that Kaylee loves contributing to my memory keeping in my PL album and it definitely  it more personal to me.

Back to school 2015bBack to school 2015c

I hope this inspires you to get the children in your life more involved in your PL album.

Kids and Project Life

Hi there, its Treasa here today and I wanted to share how I get my granddaughter involved in my Project Life album. Of course I have tons of photos of her and memorabilia from places and events but I wanted to have her add a personal touch to my album. So I have her draw me a picture or write me a note on a PL card. I think it will be a great way to look back on and remember that time.

Today I gave her a plain 4×6 piece of heavy weight cardstock and asked her to draw me a picture of her and I and this is what she came up with:Art by KayleeI just added a star for the flair to sit on and added the date to the card. In case you can’t tell that is her and me sitting by the pool.

Art by Kaylee2I love how I can get custom flair from The Crafty Pickle to help make my PL album more personalized. The Art by flair is also available in several different colors and you can also get it as a magnet and display your little ones art on the refrigerator.

Art by Kaylee3So grab some blank PL cards and hand your kids some crayons, markers, pencils and let them help make your PL album more personal and special.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!!!

Wearable Flair? Yes!!!! Hello FlairTastic Friday!

Happy Friday Everyone!

#FlairTastic Friday

Every Friday though the summer months we will bring you a new idea/concept using flair. Your not going to want to miss these fun posts! These ideas will come from not only our designers but also super neat flairtastic ideas we find from our customers and other talented papercrafters. Make sure that when you share any of your projects on Instagram or Facebook using flair, that you tag it #FlairTasticFriday. You just might see your own photo featured here on our blog!

This week we will be showing you a few ideas taking flair off your pages to actual wearable art!

First up we have an adorable project created by our designer Joann!

Add the perfect touch to headbands @ TheCraftyPickle.com

Joann added some flair from our Cute Bugs set for her adorable little girl. How precious are these? I think they would be great in the center of a bow as well. Totally adorable, Joann!!

Next we have a few ideas that have caught our eye… Take a look!

Button Ribbons http://toostinkincute.blogspot.com/2012/07/flair-badges.html

These adorable flair ribbons are just too adorable and would make a perfect wearable award or celebration pin. Love this for birthdays, weddings, achievements, and so much more. These were designed by Page Evans.

Jacket flair found on pinterest

If you were an 80’s or early 90’s kid chances are you had a jacket similar to this one. I remember wearing my collection on my varsity jacket in high school. (photo found on pinterest)

Flair button Bracelet band found on Pinterest.

What a great idea of wearing a bunch of pin back buttons of the same theme? We saw this photo on pinterest and fell in love with it!

Kid designed wearable buttons http://thesoutherninstitute.com/2013/03/buttons-book-characters.html/

I love that these are kid designed buttons. You can read more about it HERE. For a smaller option our “Make your own Flair Buttons” would be a similar and fun idea.

Last but not least we have a photo share from one of our very own customers!

liz and daughter wearing custom Button necklaces from TheCraftyPickle.com

Customer Liz ordered a custom button necklace with her loved ones names inside our glitter heart flair, we thought her daughter needed one as well. Aren’t these two just adorable!

Not only do we carry necklaces, but these adorable Hair ties as well.

custom hair ties @ TheCraftyPickle.com

We can make these hair ties with any flair in the shop or even a custom design.

Keep your eye out for our new wearable interchangeable magnetic jewelry coming to TCP’s shop in just a few weeks!

It must be the kid in me that loves flair so much. I loved wearing it then and I love wearing it now. Adding it to my papercrafting is an added bonus.

How do you wear your flair?

Stop by The Crafty Pickle Etsy Shop if you haven’t been by recently. We will be releasing a few little things between now and our next big release. We will also be having a big TCP Birthday celebration in August with giveaways and a brand new exclusive foil flair!

Dont forget to use the hashtag #FlairTasticFriday to play along with us!

See you for more FlairTastic Ideas next Friday!

Till Then….

Happy Crafting!

Cute on the inside as well as the outside! Card by Stephanie.

Hey TCP friends!

It’s Stephanie from Bits & Pieces (& Scraps) here to share my project today. I am featuring flair from The Crafty Pickle in a greeting card. I created this thank you card to send to our family members that recently hosted us at their lake house.

Dress up a greeting card with flair @ TheCraftyPickle.com

I began with a pre-made card and then punched 3 butterflies in coordinating colors. The flair I used here is the adorable butterfly from the “Cute Bugs” set. I love the added touch of something pretty when you open the card too! You can find this, as well as so much more, in the shop!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Remembering Dad

Remembering Dad

This Father’s Day will be particularly hard for me and my family this year. We lost our Dad in February to a traumatic accident.
My Dad was an awesome guy and the life of the party. We know that he wouldn’t want us to be sad on this day, so I decided
we would celebrate him on Father’s Day. Taniesa created some special flair for me so that I could use them to create cards for my
PL album. I have to say when I first saw them , I cried and I couldn’t believe how perfect and how special these were.

First I wanted to create a card using this My Favorite Memory of my Dad flair so I could document that memory of my Dad.

favorite

His grandchildren called him Superman, they seen him as a strong man who could get through anything, so I wanted to create
a card to honor our ” Superman” using a custom flair of a photo of my Dad.

super

Lastly I wanted to share a lovely gift that Taniesa sent to me for my family and me to wear on Father’s Day, how special is this ribbon and its something we could wear every Father’s Day!!

father

I love how special these custom flair are and how they will help us celebrate and remember my Dad on this Father’s Day.

Taniesa can create custom flair for you no matter the subject, just send her a message in The Crafty Pickle shop and let
her know what you are looking for.
