I know a number of you have had a lot of questions regarding how I am storing my project life cards. Instead of writing out a long post I made a little video that hopefully will answer some questions and let you see what’s working for me right now.
Here is a little video on how I am organizing my project life and pocket style journaling and filler cards. I am using the medium Close To My Heart organizers which you can see by going to my website HERE <—- that will take you right to the organizers.
The dividers that I had made for my organization were
Blue / Aqua
Black and white
Brown and Kraft
Multi Color brights
Multi Color muted
Symbols and shapes
Seasons: winter spring summer fall (holidays are in with the season)
School & Kids life
If you have any questions please post a comment, I am happy to answer anything that I can.
Thanks for watching and I hope this has helped you with a few organization ideas of your own!
If you are wanting to puchase the CTMH cases you can visit my CTMH website at www.thecraftypickle.ctmh.com
******Edited to include a link to the divider cut file I made and used in this organizing video and posted on my blog awhile back: Click here for the dividers. The folders that I used were directly from the silhouette store (Design ID #43761)******

Great organization! I need some 🙂
Wow That is awesome organization! I just wish I had even half of your product!
Great Idea! Trying to keep my stash small lol! But it already needs some organization!
Do you sell the dividers you made on the Silhouette? I love your system but I have no way of making the dividers.
Hi Samantha. I don’t have any up for sale right now but if you want to drop me an email with how many you would need I could work out a price for you (mostly just covering cardstock cost and shipping)
I am in Canada right me and will only be buying my bins in Florida this winter. I will get back to you. Thank you so much for sharing. Now I am going to buy ,ore kits cause without a storage solution, I was not willing. Love you blog and your storage solution.
Loved your ideas, thanks for the video. I have a question though–I’m struggling with the double-sided nature of the PL 3×4 cards. One side of the card can be so different from the other side–when you were sorting by color, how did you decide what color/side to use?
The environmentalist in me loves the two sided 3×4 PL cards because we’re not wasting the backside of the cards, but the fact that each side is so diverse in color and style is driving me crazy. Would love to hear your thoughts on this…thank you! Carol
Hi Carol! good question. So what I did was that most of the double sided cards I had multiples of so I sorted one side front facing and took some of the other cards and flipped them and sorted them where they should go. Make sense? I should of shown that in the video. So for example a becky higgins core kit has roughly 10 cards that are the same. I would sort 5 of them with side A color and 5 of them with side B color. Hope this helps!
I going to jump in and mix my cards lol wish me luck 😉
thank you, loved the video
You are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!!! Thank you!!! I’m new to PL and was finding that I spent so much time flipping through cards to find what I wanted. This organization system sings to my heart. Yahoo. So thank you. I saw in one of the comments that you would be willing to make and sell some dividers? Is that offer still available. I dont have any of those fancy machines. Let me know. Thanks!!
Sure Nicole. Send me some email (link is on the right hand side of my page) and I will work something out for you.
i left a comment on here:
i’m hope this may help. I’m super excited and looking forward to having some organization in place for my PL cards. 🙂
How do you categorize the double sided cards?!
Never mind I read the earlier posts haha. But the problem is if you don’t have a double of the card…
True. I almost always have a double or if I don’t I have a side I prefer. There are a few cards that I LOVE both sides and I am not sure what I will use so those go in my tab marked “special cards”. Hope this helps!
Love your organization! I don’t see the small organizer on the CTMH website, is it still available? Thank you so much!
Hi Heather 🙂 the small organizer (the one I use for my washi tape) is currently out of stock but it is not discontinued. Check back in a couple of weeks and we should have more. The medium organizer is what I used for the cards and that (along with the large) is in stock now 🙂
Thanks for your great Project Life Organization Ideas. I just ordered the organizers!!
Thanks so much for the videos! What kind of labeler do you use? I love how professional it looks!
I used a dynamo labeler I got at Michaels with a coupon 🙂
Love this! Thanks for sharing. You mentioned that you store them in your Ikea furniture. Do you have a picture of them in it. I’m assuming you have the expedit, but I’m curious on how they fit. Thanks!
Awesome video. It helped me so much! Just placed an order through your site. Thank you!
Thank you for some great information! Just ordered two organizers from your website!
Thank you so much! I am glad I could help. Your going to LOVE your organizers!— Sent from Mailbox for iPhone

OMG, I have a slight obsession with project life cards and how I was storing them was out of control…I came upon you video and it changed me life…lol, really an awesome way you store them. I just ordered the med and large container through your website. I am so excited! I am storing my washi tape which is as big as your collection in another tote, but I may change my mind so they all match. I will probably be buying more from you since I will need a few more med and large totes to store all my core kits, just ordered the two so I wouldn’t overwhelm myself! Love your blog, I will be watching all your videos! Thanks! Kelli from Chatsworth in Sunny California!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I just received 3 medium CTMH containers but was ‘stuck’ on how to sort by color. You have helped me immensely! Now to take the plunge……
I’m sure I’m too late but I read a post about PL organization on the go and you could enter to win one of the boxes filled with goodies. All you had to do was follow your blog and write a comment with favorite colors for a chance – my fave colors are purple and green if still running
thank you so much for this! i’m so glad i found your post on these containers. what i had been doing was great, but i’m outgrowing it and it’s not covered, so these ctmh containers are the perfect solution! just ordered mine from you. having all the details on your blog really helped me decide. thank you, thank you, thank you!
I love your ideas! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this! I know it’s not a super recent post, but I just came across it. I have been re-organizing my scrapbook area over the past couple of weeks, and needed some storage bins. Your ideas are awesome!
I’m new to cricut and silhouette can u use the files with cricut too? How much are containers?
I am just now coming across this and am very interested in purchasing this storage/organization solution. Right now I have stuff all over the place and need to get it organized before moving in February. Are you still a consultant? I am looking for one large container (which I don’t see on the website), 2 medium and 2 small containers 🙂 any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
Hi Caitlin, Yes I am still a consultant. you can see my website at http://www.thecraftypickle.ctmh.com. This is a direct link to the organization products. http://thecraftypickle.ctmh.com/retail/Products.aspx?CatalogID=52. It looks like the large organizer is out of stock at the moment. I can check on availability on Monday. If you want to drop me an email at TaniesaCTMH@gmail.com I can email you back as soon as they are in stock 🙂 Thanks!
Sorry if I missed this but…do the plastic dividers come with the organizer? Are there enough to divide it for storing the smaller PL cards? Thanks!
Hi Nicole! Yes, the dividers come with the organizer. There is 8 sections and you can remove dividers to put in 4×6 cards as well. In one medium case you can fit 6 full Becky Higgins Core Kits. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!!!
OMG! I’ve been looking and searching storage solutions and this is perfect! I too live in a dusty area so prefer all my products be in closed storage😃
Are the large organizers out of stock or discontinued?!
Looks like they are just out of stock at the moment. I would check back in a week or so. They never are back-ordered for long 🙂
Hi – LOVE this solution to organizing PL. I don’t know if I missed what container you used for the stickers, was it the medium also or the large? Thanks!
Did you say that one medium organizer holds up to six complete core kits? Thanks so much!
Nvm! I just read above & found my answer! Your organizing technique is amazing. I can’t wait to get started!
Thanks so much Jenny! Yes it definitely fits 6! Have fun organizing!!!
I love the storage ideas. Ive been looking for project life storage and i have like over 7000 cards. How many med size containers do you thi k i would need? Thanks
