Mixed Media PL cards

Hi Carrie here to share with you today a fun Mixed Media project life card that I created.  These are for a card swap that I am in for September over at ProjectLifeCardSwaps.com You can come check out all the Close to my Heart Products right HERE

I love the look of Mixed media Art projects.  I do not create a lot of MM on a regular basis due to the mess and time involved in creating such cards.  I am really happy with the results of this project and I hope my fellow swappers like them just as much.

I used this beautiful fall paper by Bazzill Basics for this project.  I really like this pad of 6×6 paper because it is double sided so you get lots of options.

To create the background on my cards I tore strip of paper from several different patterns, I inked all the edges in Ground Espresso Distress ink   and using my Tombow liquid adhesive I glued the pieces, layered on top of each other onto a 4×6″ sheet of Kraft cardstock.

Once all my edges were sealed to the cardstock I cut the 4×6 in half leaving me with 2 – 3×4 layered cards.  I then edged the cards with Liquid Leaf paint in Renaissance Gold.  I just wanted to add a touch of something special to my cards and this Liquid Leaf was just the ticket.

To created the bird for my card I used a CTMH “Close to My Heart” Hostess exclusive stamp and stamped it onto Kraft cardstock then fussy cut around the image. I fussy cut the wing from a different patterned paper and attached it using a 3D foam square. This added some dimension to my bird.

I added a brass paperclip with hanging date tag to complete my card.

If you ever thought about being a hostess for a CTMH online party you should give it a try. Online parties are the best because you do not have to clean your house or make tasty treats. All you need to do is invite all your crafty friends to shop online via your own hostess link and then sit back and rack in the hostess rewards. My last online party resulted in my earning $80 in FREE stamps, ink or paper and two half price items.  Its a fantastic way to build up your CTMH stamp collection with very little effort.  If your interested follow this link http://thecraftypickle.ctmh.com/ctmh/what-we-do/be-a-hostess.aspx  you will see this at the bottom of the page. “Contact me to schedule your own Gathering today. ”  Click it to contact Taniesa to set up your party.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope this post inspires you to get a little messy and try something new and to host your own online CTMH gathering.

“SMILE”

Hi friends and happy Labor Day! Joann here today sharing a card with you using the CTMH Artistry cartridge bundle.

Here it is…

I took some images from pages 6, 15 and 17 and cut them out of some CTMH Cardstock and created some sort of a mosaic look, as you can see the shapes don’t fit prefect next to each other but that is what I was going for. I stamped and gold embossed my sentiment using the Perfect Picture stamp set that comes with the Artistry Collection and simply adhered all of my images to the front panel using some foam adhesive to add lots of dimension.

I finished it off by adding a bit of  TCP Relish and called it quits.  I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and as always thank you so much for stopping by!

I L-O-V-E It!!! Pocket Page!!!

Hello hello! Guess who? That’s right..it’s me Marisa!

I’m super excited to share with you my Project Life layout using some yummy goodies from the shop. I stepped out of my comfort zone on this one and guess what? I L-O-V-E it! You know you do too! Ha!

IMG_5926

I wanted to document our 4th of July celebrating like I do in most of my layouts..with lots of pops and pizzazz!  Not hard to do when you have festive products to play with!

IMG_5923

These 4th of July flair were perfect to use and it’s the most flair I’ve ever used on one page. Enter stepping outside of my zone. The reason it was easier to incorporate them was because they all coordinate and that’s what I love about The Crafty Pickle’s products.

IMG_5924

The Relish Mix was perfect for sprinkling stars and sequins throughout my page. I like to treat each of my cards as mini layouts since scrapbooking is my #1 love! So embellishing is definitely my jam 😉

I also like to use washi and any other tapes to layer with and even die cut shapes out of. On this spread I used the Silver tape to make tiny banners to accent a few cards and added just small strips to tie it all in.IMG_5928

Think outside the box my crafty peeps!

IMG_5927

A lot of my embellishments for my Project Life pages are tiny. Alphas, enamel dots and stickers, etc. So when I saw the Pickle Spots I knew exactly how to use them. Yep. Say it with me. “Outside the box!” You my friend are awesome 😉

Check out my process video and see the products in action!

It’s Almost Time for Pumpkin Spice!

I am sad to see summer come to a close in New York as fall makes its way in, but nevertheless it’s coming…my parents are visiting from North Carolina and we even made a trip to the apple orchard for cider donuts already, and I had to buy fleece pajamas for my 17 month old because our evenings and mornings are getting chilly.  Chilly weather is perfect for warm beverages–especially a hot cup of coffee!  So of course to celebrate Pumpkin Spice season and to play with my new Fuse tool and my new “Treats of Friendship” stamps from Close To My Heart, I had to make a coffee Project Life shaker card!  Here is a link to the shop to order the stamps HERE
fallcoffee2

I stamped the coffee cup on 3 different patterned papers and cut out the pieces to layer them together for a fun fall to-go cup.  Then I stamped the sentiment “I like you a latte” on my background paper.  I inked just the first part of the sentiment and stamped it, and then inked and stamped the word “latte” into the heart.  Clear stamps are the best for tricks like that!  I created my shaker pocket with my fuse tool and used coppery orange leaf confetti and real coffee grounds inside!  Yum!

The Pickles are on the move!

Hi Crafty Friends!

Some of you might already be aware but we wanted to make a formal announcement here on our blog. Due to my husband receiving a fantastic job offer we are needing to relocate to the PNW! We will be moving to the Seattle area within the next three weeks (YIKES!)

TheCraftyPickle.com

This is a huge move for this California born and raised girl! Because of this our Etsy shop will remain closed until we settle in our new home. I am hoping that this will not take us terribly long. Our TCP designers will still be bringing you fun ideas on our blog.

Thank you so much for your prayers, well wishes, and support you have given since finding out about our relocation. I appreciate them so much.

Pickles to the Pacific Northwest. Watch out here we come!

Teachers Give A Hooot

Hi friends, Joann here today!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Today I am sharing a card that I made using CTMH- Teacher Appreciation stamp set.

With school back in session, I’m in need of tons of teacher cards and what better way to make a card for a teacher using this awesome stamp set. I fell in love with the phrases on this stamp set, they are absolutely perfect (click HERE to see the stamp set) it’s a must have!

I started by stamping my images and simply colored them using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, nothing fancy. I layered my top panel to some CTMH Cardstock- Adventure Assortment to add a bit more color and kept the rest of my card super simple since I’m planning to make a few!

Well that’s all for today and thank you so much for stopping by!

Love Your Selfie Flair!!!

Hi Carrie here to share with you my latest project life page!!

This page is a 12×12 WRMK photo sleeve page. The paper collection I used for this layout is by Echo Park “Here and Now” by Lori Whitlock. I love the bright summer colors of this collection. I just celebrated my Birthday on the 17th of this month. I wanted to create a page about Me!

pl page

The new “Selfie” line of flairs by TCP are perfect for us scrapbookers to use when creating these kinds of layouts. We tend to scrapbook a lot about our kids and families, neglecting to make pages and preserve memories about ourselves.

close-up

I would encourage you to include a few “selfies” in your albums this year. I am in love with the new pickle relish sequin mixes that are now available in a variety of colors.

close-up1

There are three different sized, slightly cupped, sequins in the relish mixes. The mix I used is called “rock candy” this mix actually has four sizes and is the perfect embellishment to add a pop of interest to your crafty projects!

Do not forget that the etsy store is closed for a little bit and will be opening soon …so be watching the blog for updates….thanks!!!

Gold Gold Gold Mini Album!!!

Happy Monday to everyone!!!

I love to make a mini album especially if it is for my two nieces ….we had such a wonderful time at Disneyland and California Adventure in July that I just had to make an album!!!

I just love going there all the people ( cast members) just go out of their way to help you in any way that they can!!!

My method to making a mini album is I slide all the pictures in the protectors, then go back and add the paper, and next I decorate the cover because that sets the tone for the album for me …and last (my favorite)  I add all the wonderful embellishments from The Crafty Pickle!!!

Here is my album cover:
