Snowy Pocket page with flair

Hi Carrie here.  Today I am sharing with you a pocket page that I created for my dear friend’s Birthday.

With the last name of Snow and a December birthday I thought this page would be perfect for her.

I used the Doodlebug designs Frosty Friends collection for this project.

Of course I had to add some CraftyPickle flair  and Pickle relish sequins when embellishing some of the cards.

The Winter set is perfect for this snowy page.

I pray that you and your family have a happy and warm winter.

Happy Scrappin’

Carrie

Hello Santa!

Hi Crafty Friends! It’s Lisa here today from Happy Paper & Ink to share a new Project Life card that I created. I am doing some preparation for my December Daily album, so that is what inspired me to create this card.

 tcp22

For this card, I started with Pink Paislee Merry & Bright 6×6 paper pad. I cut a tag and a 4×6 project life card from the paper pad. I then cut strips of paper for the side border to add some interest. I cut a snowflake tag  on white and red paper using my Silhouette Cameo. I also cut the title using gold glitter vinyl and my Silhouette Cameo for the title “Hello Santa”.   I doodled around all the edges with a black 0.8 American Crafts Black Pen and inked with black Memento Ink.

To finish off the card, I used The Crafty Pickle’s Black & White Color Pop Flair and applied it to the top of the snowflake tag. I added some sequins to the corner of the card from The Crafty Pickle. Adding any of the Relish Mixes to your layout or cards gives a fun, sparkly and thin embellishment. These come in all colors, I used the Magical Mouse mix for this card. I layered the sequins and put red glitter stickle dots on top of some of the sequins to change the look a little. And finally, I tied a bow at the top of the snowflake tag to tie it all together!

I hope you enjoyed my Project Life card & are inspired. Look for some more blog posts showing my December Daily in the future!

Thanks for looking & Happy Crafting!

Mixed Media PL cards

Hi Carrie here to share with you today a fun Mixed Media project life card that I created.  These are for a card swap that I am in for September over at ProjectLifeCardSwaps.com You can come check out all the Close to my Heart Products right HERE

I love the look of Mixed media Art projects.  I do not create a lot of MM on a regular basis due to the mess and time involved in creating such cards.  I am really happy with the results of this project and I hope my fellow swappers like them just as much.

I used this beautiful fall paper by Bazzill Basics for this project.  I really like this pad of 6×6 paper because it is double sided so you get lots of options.

To create the background on my cards I tore strip of paper from several different patterns, I inked all the edges in Ground Espresso Distress ink   and using my Tombow liquid adhesive I glued the pieces, layered on top of each other onto a 4×6″ sheet of Kraft cardstock.

Once all my edges were sealed to the cardstock I cut the 4×6 in half leaving me with 2 – 3×4 layered cards.  I then edged the cards with Liquid Leaf paint in Renaissance Gold.  I just wanted to add a touch of something special to my cards and this Liquid Leaf was just the ticket.

To created the bird for my card I used a CTMH “Close to My Heart” Hostess exclusive stamp and stamped it onto Kraft cardstock then fussy cut around the image. I fussy cut the wing from a different patterned paper and attached it using a 3D foam square. This added some dimension to my bird.

I added a brass paperclip with hanging date tag to complete my card.

If you ever thought about being a hostess for a CTMH online party you should give it a try. Online parties are the best because you do not have to clean your house or make tasty treats. All you need to do is invite all your crafty friends to shop online via your own hostess link and then sit back and rack in the hostess rewards. My last online party resulted in my earning $80 in FREE stamps, ink or paper and two half price items.  Its a fantastic way to build up your CTMH stamp collection with very little effort.  If your interested follow this link http://thecraftypickle.ctmh.com/ctmh/what-we-do/be-a-hostess.aspx  you will see this at the bottom of the page. “Contact me to schedule your own Gathering today. ”  Click it to contact Taniesa to set up your party.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope this post inspires you to get a little messy and try something new and to host your own online CTMH gathering.

Lights, camera, create!

Hi there, its Treasa here today to share with you some cards I created using flair from the Movie Night set and the Cinema Relish Mix from The Crafty Pickle Shop.

First up  I created a popcorn gift card holder. I used the movie tickets flair from the Movie Night set and the reel from the Cinema Relish Mix.

MG1You pull the popcorn out and the gift card is tucked up inside. I also added a star from the Cinema Relish Mix as well as some Film Strip washi tape from the shop.

MG2I also wanted to create a couple cards for my Project Life album.

MG3I created the base of both cards digitally then went to town adding some items from the shop.

For the Movie Night card, i used the Popcorn flair from the Movie Night set and a reel, movie camera and stars from the Cinema Relish Mix as well as used some of the Film strip washi tape.

For the “I Reely Love You ” card, I put two reels from the Cinema Relish Mix together and added some thin ribbon to look like the film . I also used some of the stars from the Cinema Relish Mix too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Remembering Dad

Remembering Dad

This Father’s Day will be particularly hard for me and my family this year. We lost our Dad in February to a traumatic accident.
My Dad was an awesome guy and the life of the party. We know that he wouldn’t want us to be sad on this day, so I decided
we would celebrate him on Father’s Day. Taniesa created some special flair for me so that I could use them to create cards for my
PL album. I have to say when I first saw them , I cried and I couldn’t believe how perfect and how special these were.

First I wanted to create a card using this My Favorite Memory of my Dad flair so I could document that memory of my Dad.

favorite

His grandchildren called him Superman, they seen him as a strong man who could get through anything, so I wanted to create
a card to honor our ” Superman” using a custom flair of a photo of my Dad.

super

Lastly I wanted to share a lovely gift that Taniesa sent to me for my family and me to wear on Father’s Day, how special is this ribbon and its something we could wear every Father’s Day!!

father

I love how special these custom flair are and how they will help us celebrate and remember my Dad on this Father’s Day.

Taniesa can create custom flair for you no matter the subject, just send her a message in The Crafty Pickle shop and let
her know what you are looking for.

Kathy’s 30 Day Color Challenge!

Hi Crafty Friends,

If you haven’t heard, Kathy, From TheDailyMarker.com is starting a 30 day color challenge starting today though April 2nd. I read about her idea and thought this was a great opportunity to do something creative every day for 30 days. I get caught up in a lot of things between family, chores, business stuff, ect… That I forget to do something creative for myself. You can read more about her challenge and see how she is preparing for the 30 days HERE.

I have not only decided to play but to put my own little spin on it. For the next 30 days I plan on making 30 colored Project Life cards to use in my 2015 album. I think this will help me get more practice in with a variety of markers, pencils, and watercolors that I have been neglecting.

I was up late last night so I got an early start on today’s coloring. My newly turned 15-year-old had a sushi lunch for his birthday so I made a project life card that will be perfect for that day.

Coloring Challenge day one @TheCraftyPickle.com

For this first card I used the Paper Smooches stamp set “Calorie Free” and my Copic markers. I even added a little wink of stella glitter to the ginger and used some glossy accents for the plastic grass. To finish it off I did some doodle lines around the card.

It’s simple and didn’t take me any time at all but it felt great to get into the creative mode.

Will you be joining me in taking Kathy’s 30 day color challenge? If so, please link me your projects in the comments this month, I would love to see what you will be creating!

Shake it off with Treasa

Happy Sunday everyone!

Treasa has a special Sunday post for you all. Check out the awesome handmade project life cards she made for a swap she is in.

I totally love this catchy song from Taylor Swift ,so much in fact that I created a PL card using it as my inspiration. I created the card in my Silhouette software then I printed it out and used the print and cut feature to cut the card out for me. I then backed it with some black card stock and added the music note flair from The Crafty Pickle as a final touch. I love how it gives it some bling with the silver glitter.

So remember to keep on cruising and don’t stop grooving….

Thanks Treasa, I think this is one of my favorite cards you have made yet!

Snow…. in California?

Hi Crafty Friends!

Happy New Year! I hope the holidays treated you well and that you’re off to a great 2015! Today, designer Carrie has a great first layout of 2015 showing her home in california covered in snow! It doesn’t happen often so this was a nice surprise! Check it out!

Happy New Year.  I can hardly believe it’s 2015.

Today I am sharing my first winter layout. This page will actually be at the end of my 2014 family album.  We had a rare snow fall where I live in Murrieta California.  It has not snowed here in ten years, and even then it was just a dusting.  We actually got about a foot of snow that lasted several days.

For this page I used a ton of beautiful shiny sequins from TheCraftyPicklethey came in the Winter Mix pack.    Can I just tell you that I am a bit obsessed with sequins right now. They are such an easy embellishment and very reasonably priced.  Easy to apply with a bit of liquid glue or mini glue dots.

Here is a closer look at some cards I created by embossing some snowflakes onto vellum and then adding a bit of shimmer watercolors.  I of course added some sequins to embellish these cards too.

When you order flair from Taniesa your flair is packaged with sequins/confetti in a glassine bag.

Its like a little party when you open the cute little package. I use these sequins all the time, they are the perfect accent to any project.

This glitter flair is perfect on my pages, adds that special touch I like to set the feeling I want to document.
Of course I had to add one of my new blue color pop flairs to this card. It matches my sequins too.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Happy Scrappin in the New Year

Carrie

Thanks Carrie! I LOVE your layout and I am a wee bit Jealous of your snow (we didn’t get any snow in my part of California).

A big thank you to all of my readers. You have made my journey with my blog and the growth of my business(s) so fun and so worthwhile for me. I appreciate each and every one of you!

Happy Crafting!
