Trinity Stamp’s GRAND OPENING blog hop!

Hi Friends!
Whew, It has been a very LONG time since I last posted here on the Crafty Pickle blog! Some of you might have been wondering where I went off to? Am I still crafting? Am I still BREATHING? LOL well, I assure you I am in fact breathing, however, I haven’t been crafting near as much as I would like but all for a really good reason! I have been busy preparing to launch a brand new company…

For today’s blog hop I created a project with the adorable 3×4 Lady Liberty stamp set. I also snuck in a sentiment from the Hello Sweet Friend stamp set. I thought the scripty font fit well with this little lady!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps 5

I colored her with some aqua copics, I thought it was fitting with it being Trinity Stamps Signature color! I used BG10, BG11, BG23, and a little bit of BG49 in the darkest shadows. Coloring this image was a breeze! Davina, the artist behind this particular stamp has made it very easy to color, She has drawn all of the folds and pleats for you. It made this very enjoyable to color! I can’t wait for the 30 day coloring challenge (which starts tomorrow! YAY!) so I can color the rest of the Trinity Stamp’s new release!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps

After I colored Lady Liberty and cut her out using the matching Die… I created a background scene by cutting some cityscape dies I had on hand and I used distress oxide inks plus a stencil to do some fun fireworks in the background. After coloring the background of where the fireworks were going to be, I laid down the stencil and used some Bo Bunny glitter paste. I love how sparkly everything is!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps 3

Once the background was dry, I added some rhinestones as well as some stars and other confetti from the Trinity Stamps Lady Liberty confetti mix. I love all the cute tiny stars, especially the 4 point ones!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps 11

To finish it all up I stamped the Missing You sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. Everything was accented by a little silver glitter paper. I think it tied it all in nicely, don’t you?

I also created a fun birthday coffee card using the Coffee with Character stamp set and dies  as well as the caffeinated sentiments stamp set for the Coffee Lovers Blog hop. That post can be found on the Trinity Stamps blog HERE but here is a photo of the card project.

Last an update regarding Close to my Heart….

Many of you have seen my Close to my heart videos on organization. If not feel free to click HERE to view them.

For the last four + years I have been a Close to My Heart consultant. I was so passionate about the organizers they offer and how it really helped me get started with my craft room organization. I wanted to share that organization inspiration with others, but I did not become a consultant to exclusively represent CTMH. I love their products but I also love a wide range of products and believe that all the products in this industry that are available to the papercrafting artist community only enhances our creativity and we don’t have to stick to only one brand. CTMH Has a policy in place that I cannot represent or design with any other companies products and actively promote anyone besides CTMH. I did not know this when I signed up (I guess I failed to read close enough) or I would not have entered into that commitment. When presented with the choice of terminating my other relationships and product designing with other companies or terminating my contract with CTMH this week I chose to terminate my contract with CTMH. I am sure my customers can understand why I have made that decision.

All of that being said I still love the CTMH brand and especially their organizers. I have a good friend who is also a CTMH consultant. Felicia Voris is kind, Honest, and quick to help others so she was the perfect person to refer my customers to. You can visit Felicia’s CTMH shop by clicking the link HERE. Felicia may from time to time share my videos and posts that highlight the CTMH organizers. I have given her, and only her, complete permission and access to those resources.  Thank you for helping me support Felicia. I know you will adore her!

That is all for now! I will be back soon with new projects to share! Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

You are WONDERFUL!

Hi Crafty Friends!

Did you know that today is “Send a Card to a Friend Day”?  I didn’t even know it was a thing, but there is a holiday and occasion for just about anything now days and this is one I can completely get behind. I don’t know about my fellow card makers out there but I am horrible about actually getting my cards in the mail and in the mail on time. Today is the perfect push to grab some cards and send them to your friends… Just BEE-cause!

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

Today’s card features the Honey Bee stamp sets “Zen Bouquet”, “Camera Love”, and “Beautiful Life”. I also used the Stand alone “Wonderful” die and the matching die set for “Beautiful Life”.

So I had a general idea of the card design in my head and I knew I wanted a striped border at the bottom of my card. Problem was I didn’t have a background stamp or border stamp that was a stripe. So I got a little creative and pulled the little label stamp from the Camera Love stamp set and with the help of my Misti, I made my own border using versafine onyx black ink.

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

Next I pulled a piece of text like patterned paper that I had in my scrap pile and stamped this large flower from the Zen Bouquet stamp set with the same versafine onyx black ink in a random pattern.

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I colored the flowers and leaves with these chalk pastel pencils that I have been playing around with. These are from Stabilo and they are called CarbOthello. They really are great for adding color and shading die cuts! I simply scribbled on the color, super easy and quick!

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

After I was done scribbling in that color, I just smudged the color around with a Fantastix blending tool. You can use a qtip, makeup applicator, or even just your finger is fine.

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I wasn’t careful about staying in the lines. In fact I like the glow like effect when I didn’t stay in the lines.

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

After all the coloring was done I lightly misted my paper with a fixative as you see above. If you don’t have a fixative like this you could use something as simple as hairspray.

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I trimmed the floral panel to size and glued it to a piece of yellow cardstock that was slightly longer than my floral panel. I added a thin piece of glossy black cardstock as an accent piece. From that same glossy black cardstock I die cut the word “wonderful” and set aside. I stamped and die cut the “you are loved” stamp from the “beautiful life” stamp set out of yellow cardstock and black foam. I cut away the word “loved” and replaced with “Wonderful” instead.

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

Time to put it all together. I put a piece of foam behind the floral panel and then adhered that to the white striped edge cardstock panel which was cut to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I glued down the wonderful so that it hung off the edge of the top panel just a bit and then glued the foam backed “you are” piece above the main sentiment.

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

Once all that was done I placed the completed panel on a A-2 size card base. I think this is a great card to send for any occasion but especially to a friend, just because, to let them know you are thinking of them.

You are WONDERFUL | Taniesa Vlasak for HoneyBeeStamps.com

I hope that you are encouraged to brighten someone’s day with a little happy mail today!

Listed below are the supplies I used today. Affiliate links are used where available (at NO cost to you, they help me with the cost of running my blog and I am so thankful for your support!)

Essentials by Ellen and Honey Bee Stamps!

Hi Friends!

Today I am combining some of my favorite stamps and dies from Honey Bee Stamps and Ellen Hutson!

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

I might have gone on a bit of a crafting spree lately, I was having so much fun with the new releases from both companies (and some of their older releases as well) and, well, tis the season for crafting!

The first project I have for you today is a fun card using Chibitronics lights! This card features the Merry and Bright stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps as well as the Essentials by Ellen Fat Pants stamp and dies (ornaments), Poinsettia and pine dies(Pine branch), Mistletoe and Holly stamp set(pine branch), Merry and bright stamp set (lightbulb), and the Bokeh dots stamp set for the background. (All products linked at the end of the post)

Here is the card with the lights off:

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

and the card with the lights on (you just remove the little paper that says “pull” and they turn on)

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

Using the Chibitronics was a lot easier than I had expected and it was so much fun making a card that lit up!

Next I have a couple of DIY Gifts that would be great for your holiday gift giving.

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

These were both SO simple and so quick to make. For the wine basket I purchased the decorative basket from Michael’s craft store for under $5. I heat embossed the Essentials by Ellen Fat Pants sentiment from the Fat Pants stamp set and tied the tag around the top of the basket with some red twine. Popped in a bottle of wine with some tissue and now its all set for a quick holiday gift.

Know someone with a sweet tooth? Try filling a mason jar with candy like I did with my snowman jar here. I just took a piece of cardstock and did some simple ink blending around some snowy hills. I stamped some snowflakes from the Honey Bee Stamps Flakey Friends stamp set. From the same stamp set I stamped out the snowman and die cut him with the coordinating dies. For the tag I heat embossed the sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen Holly Jolly stamp set and tied the tag around the jar with some Doodlebug twine. I think this would make a great gift for a teacher or coworker.

Next up is a fun way to present a coffee gift card. This cute little bear is from the Essentials by Ellen All inside stamp set (and matching die). I gave him a big cup of coffee from the Oh Frappe set and popped him on an action wobbler so he bounces inside the MFT decorative circle cut out. I stamped the background with the same stamp set and the sentiment is a combination from this stamp set and the new Honey Bee Stamps Sending You sentiments.

Here is the outside and the inside of the card:

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

For the inside, I stamped the”just for you” and hearts from the Sending you stamp set and heat embossed with WOW rich pale gold embossing powder. I cut the largest heart from the Essentials by Ellen Folk heart die set and put a bit of temporary adhesive on the gift card and stuck it to the stamped heart. I Glued that to the back of the card and with adhesive on either ends of the strip I laid that over the gift card. I think these are great to have on hand, especially around the holidays for quick gifts!

Another great thing to have on hand is some gift bags. I Love the WRMK Gift bag punch board and I thought that the Essentials by Ellen leaping deer die would make the perfect window for a gift bag.

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

This was another very easy to make project. I cut the bag according to the punch board directions and before I adhered anything I die cut the front of the bag with the leaping deer die. I stamped and heat embossed the JOY sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Merry and Joy sentiment builder stamp set. I took a piece of vellum and glued it to the inside of the bag, creating a little window. I finished off the bag with some sequins and that ribbon you see was a gift in my last Ellen Hutson order! They are just so sweet!

I made about 20 versions of the card you will see below. Normally I would shy away from making cards that need masking for a mass-produced card but I discovered a great way to make masks last which made the whole project easy peasy! Want to learn more about this tip and how I made this card? Check out the post in the Ellen Hutson Classroom HERE

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

I also created a fun die cut inlay card with the new Honey Bee Stamps Thanks and giving die set. You can see that card and more on the Honey Bee Stamps blog HERE, but below is a sneak peek!

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

Whew! That was a lot of projects to share! I am so glad you kept on reading because one lucky reader is going to win a $50 gift certificate to EllenHutson.com! How do you win? Easy Peasy! Leave a comment here, then pop on over to the Ellen Hutson classroom and leave a comment there too and another stop to HoneyBeeStamps.com and leave a comment there and you are entered to win!

It’s *NEW* Release day at Honey Bee Stamps!

Welcome to the Honey Bee Stamps November Release Honey Hop!!!

All this week we have been showing you little sneaks of our awesome new embellishments, stamp sets and dies! Well, here they all are! Everything will be available for purchase today in our shop HERE.

Honey Bee Stamps New Release for November!

For my project today I am using the “Little Pickup” stamp set and the “Sending You” Sentiment set along with their coordinating die sets.

I just love this cute little truck! I knew that I wanted this cute stamp to be center stage so I gathered some scene building dies (Mountain range & stitched hills) and started assembling!

sending-you-card-3

You might have seen this lil sneak on instagram when I was putting my “Little Pickup” together.

Honey Bee Stamps Little Pickup | Taniesa Vlasak www.thecraftypickle.com

Now you don’t have to cut out all the pieces you see in this photo but it sure makes it fun. I love that the die set includes the tires and the window dies so you can make layered and interactive cards with this set. I fussy cut the fenders and popped them up with a bit of foam tape. I covered the wheels in glossy accents after die cutting them from another truck stamped image.

sending-you-card-8

I had this Daniel Smith watercolor I have been wanting to use for a long time called Autumn Mystery Duochrome. I thought it gave the truck a rusty type of look while still looking oh so sparkly and pretty, The color changes slightly depending on the angle you are looking at it from.

sending-you-card-7

Neat, Huh?!?!

After I got my truck assembled I glued the tree to the bed of the truck and added just a bit of the new Honey Bee Stamps exclusive glitter glass. I thought it gave the perfect icy-snowy texture. I also added the same glitter glass to the top of the mountains, and all the snowy hills. I used some Ranger Multi Medium in the Matte finish to glue on the glitter and gently pushed the glitter into the glue so it would stick very well. Once it was all dry I dusted off the excess.

I attached the truck to my scene with some foam tape. I stamped and die cut the sentiment on the front hill and attached that below the truck with a double layer of foam tape.

sending-you-card-6

To finish it off I added some dots of glue and sprinkled on some glitter glass that I hand-dyed a soft blue color. *Video Coming Soon on embellishment dyeing process*

Sending you ... Little Pickup Christmas Card| Created for Honey Bee Stamps by Taniesa Vlasak

Scary Halloween to you!

Hi there Crafty friends, it’s Lisa here today to show you a card I created for The Crafty Pickle.

IMG_6773

For this card I used the Close To My Heart Thriller set. To obtain the “grunge” look for the background, I used Ranger’s Alcohol Ink and the Alcohol Blending solution. I mixed these together on a blending sponge and made quick dabs all over the cardstock. Once the cardstock was covered in color, I added the blending solution to the sponge and made quick dabs all over the cardstock. This blended all of the ink and made the colors look more cohesive. Once I achieved the look I was aiming for, I then sprayed the cardstock with the Black Soot Distress Spray to darken up the background a bit.

p2

I stamped the sentiment “scary Halloween to you” on cardstock that I distressed with the Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. To finish the card up, I added a few sequins to the sentiment and the background from the Crafty Pickle Relish Mix.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my card, as soon as the Crafty Pickle shop reopens, be sure to take a peek at all the awesome Relish Mixes and Flairs to add fun to your projects.

Happy Monday!

Organizing Tip: Cling Stamps & 6×6 Paper Pads!

Good Morning!  Today I’d like to share with you one of my favorite organizational products ever!  And it just happens to be the My Acrylix Organizers from Close to My Heart!

ctmh container6As a former consultant for 5 years (and my best customer), and having been a loyal customer ever since, I have amassed quite the My Acrylix stamp collection!  I absolutely LOVE the quality and versatility of the clear cling stamps–and with the CTMH My Acrylix organizers the stamps are so easy to store and access quickly when I want to sit down and craft.  The containers are stackable, have a hinge-top lid with a handle (so you can pack up your favorite sets easily for crops!), and they retail for only $14.95 each. ctmh container1I have added to my container storage as I have added to my stamp collection and it has been well worth the investment to have a cohesive place to keep all my stamps neatly (especially since my craft room is also our family dining room). ctmh container2

Each container stores 15 CTMH stamp sets right in their envelopes!  ctmh container3

And if you have collected other brands of cling stamps, you can make them fit to flip through them and store them in the containers as well.  I ordered Avery Elle clear stamp envelopes to store my sets where the plastic packaging had ripped and they fit right in! ctmh container4

I have also recently discovered that my hoard of 6×6 paper pads will also fit inside of these handy storage boxes–which opens a whole new world of organizational possibilities!  Think about putting together little “kits” with these boxes to make pulling one down and crafting quick and easy without having to dig through your whole stash!  For example, you can put your Fall 6×6 pads, stamp sets, and a few embellishments all in one organizer!  (Each organizer comes with 2 removable dividers that create 3 sections inside.)  ctmh container5

I hope that you learned of a useful product on the market today that will help you get organized and therefore make it easier to access and use more of your stash!  I really couldn’t live without these and it’s a system that really works for me!

Happy Crafting!

It’s Almost Time for Pumpkin Spice!

I am sad to see summer come to a close in New York as fall makes its way in, but nevertheless it’s coming…my parents are visiting from North Carolina and we even made a trip to the apple orchard for cider donuts already, and I had to buy fleece pajamas for my 17 month old because our evenings and mornings are getting chilly.  Chilly weather is perfect for warm beverages–especially a hot cup of coffee!  So of course to celebrate Pumpkin Spice season and to play with my new Fuse tool and my new “Treats of Friendship” stamps from Close To My Heart, I had to make a coffee Project Life shaker card!  Here is a link to the shop to order the stamps HERE
fallcoffee2

I stamped the coffee cup on 3 different patterned papers and cut out the pieces to layer them together for a fun fall to-go cup.  Then I stamped the sentiment “I like you a latte” on my background paper.  I inked just the first part of the sentiment and stamped it, and then inked and stamped the word “latte” into the heart.  Clear stamps are the best for tricks like that!  I created my shaker pocket with my fuse tool and used coppery orange leaf confetti and real coffee grounds inside!  Yum!

Christmas in July!!!

Happy Saterday, thank you so much for stopping by!!

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I made using the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and a coordinating stamp set.

This cartridge collection is fabulous and if you haven’t seen the cuts this cartridge has, click here to take a look!
And then here is a link to her blog:

I used the cartridge to cut a frame (pg. 62) and used the Perfect Fit- Frames Flair stamp set to stamp my image on the frame with some Cranberry Ink. I then cut the tree (pg. 31) and stamped my image with the coordinating stamp set that comes with the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge bundle with some Pear Ink.

This cartridge has some fun borders that you can cut out, I took the border on page 63 and cut it out using some fun CTMH Silver Glitter cardstock. Using the same stamp set as my tree, I stamped my sentiment on some vellum with some StazOn. I finished my card by adding some foam adhesive to my images and some TCP Winter Sequins Mix.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day!
