Happy Thanksgiving: Card by Carrie Bryant

Hi Carrie here to share with you a Thanksgiving card I made for my In-laws.

I created this card using the Thankful Heart stamp set from CTMH.  I love that I could use my watercolors to bring the fall colors of the leaves to life in this set. The sentiment is perfect for Thanksgiving too.

I am in love with the Sweater Weather collection by Simple Stories.
I think this great stamp set coordinates perfectly with this collection.  The fall mix sequins from TheCraftyPickle are a perfect accent to complete my card.

Thanks for stopping by today.

I wish you and yours a Blessed Holiday season filled with Thankful hearts.

Carrie

Thanks Carrie, I just love that stamp set and your card is just adorable!

Make sure to stop by this Monday for our FIRST blog hop and of course lots of prizes!

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Thank You card and a Project Life card using Flair

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I have teamed up with Scrap your Scraps to share some ideas using Flair buttons! I wanted to share two different ideas using some brand new Flair that I just added to The Crafty Pickle Etsy Store.

First up is a thank you gift card holder that I made using my silhouette and a flair from the Cozy Fall Set. I adore Autumn and pumpkin spice latte’s are my favorite!

Coffee Gift Card @TheCraftyPickle.com

I used some cardstock I had on hand and cut out the card design on my Silhouette using design # 29511

Coffee Gift Card @TheCraftyPickle.com

I die cut a tag from some cardstock scraps I had, added a little bit of decorative trim and attached it with a little clothes pin. I attached the PSL (pumpkin spice latte) button with some tombo xtreme adhesive. You could also use a button from the Starbucks flair set too, I just wanted to go for an autumn feel with this card.

Coffee Gift Card @TheCraftyPickle.com

The inside has room for the coffee gift card as well as a little room to write a personal message.

Once it was all finished I slipped the card into a clear envelope and tossed in some of the exclusive autumn mix sequins from The Crafty Pickle Etsy shop for a little added fun touch.

Next up I have a project life card that I am sure anyone can find use for in their album, Mine is usually inspired by one of my teenage boys dodging the camera. For this card I am using the Photo Not Available flair from the Everyday Photo #2 set

No Photo Available Project life card @TheCraftyPickle.com

To make this card I took a white piece of heavy cardstock that was in my scrap pile and cut out the camera design on my silhouette (Design #41015)  The design called for several shades of gray but I only had two shades on hand so I just cut everything out of the white cardstock and colored the pieces with my copic markers (N8, N6, N4, N2, Y15, and Y19) I also used my wink of stella glitter pen and my Stardust gelly roll pen by Sakura

No Photo Available Project life card @TheCraftyPickle.com

I attached a few sequins (that are always included in my flair packages) and attached the Photo Not Available flair with some Tombo Xtreme adhesive. The base card is a Becky Higgins Project Life grid card.

As you can see above my flair has a very low profile making it ideal for page protectors of all types, especially pocket pages. It’s about the same dimension as chipboard or thickers.

If you haven’t visited The Crafty Pickle Etsy shop recently you might be surprised to find over 30 new flair sets including our new color patterned pop collection and some special limited edition sequins mixes.

Make sure you Stop by the Scrap your Scraps blog for even more flair inspiration, Not to mention a fun giveaway from The Crafty Pickle Etsy Store too!!!

Crafty New Year’s Resolution’s

Hi Friends!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Mine was so busy I hardly had any time to sit down and craft. This week was the first time I had time to create in what seemed like forever.

Have you made any New Years Resolutions? I’ve made a few and one of them is to create more cards. I am usually in such a hurry so when I need to send a card I am usually grabbing something quick at Target. Not only is store bought cards expensive, it doesn’t usually have that personal touch that something handmade has.

The card I made for today uses the Die-namites Winter Sunflower die.

 Winter Sunflower

I knew I wanted to use this pretty die along with Peggie Lee’s January Sketch and Dare challenge.

 Sketch and Dare Challenge
 Sketch and Dare Challenge

I wanted to use the circle design of the sketch but in the negitive rather than layer a circle on top of the card. I used a circle cutter and cut out a circle in a piece of white cardstock. I cut this down to fit the front of my card. Then I cut at an angle though the circle. Setting this piece aside for later I started adding watercolor to my card (*card made out of watercolor paper) with two shades of yellow and then once that was dry, I added a dark shade of green.

While waiting for the watercolor to dry I cut out my sunflower in both yellow and green cardstock. I trimmed the leaves off the yellow die cut and layered on top of the green. for a bit of subtle texture I added some yellow glitter to the flower. I attached this on top of the water colored portion of my card.

Lastly I took the front piece of cardstock that I started with and stamped a simple hello sentiment and splattered a bit of mist in yellow and green on top. I added the piece to the card base using foam squares.

Voila! A handmade card ready to give to someone special!

Will you be creating more in 2014? How about participating in die-namites monthly Sketch and Dare Challenge? It’s a great way to get your creativity flowing and get a chance to win a fabulous prize!

Last minute gift ideas with Die-namites dies!

Thank you for joining us for our

Dienamites bloghop

If you have arrived here from Lynne Forsythe’s blog,

you are in the right place. If not head on over to Die~Namites Dies Blog, to begin the hop!

I know it’s a very hectic time of year….. the parties, the shopping, the decorating…. and the last minute gift for Aunt Betty.

We at Die~Namites Dies wanted to share with you a few Last Minute Ideas.

It is always so hard for me to think of what to give teenagers for Christmas. This year filling up their stockings was a little challenging and I was still shopping up until today to finish up everything.

While shopping for stocking gifts I saw so many gift sets that were way overpriced. I thought, “I could put something together for half the cost of those packaged sets”. So I grabbed some nail polish and other nail care items for my daughter and bundled them up in a clear cellophane bag. I attached a pretty tag that I made with two of the new release dies from Die-namites!

The dies I used were the Curly Poinsettias die and the Winter Branch die.

Winter Branch Curly Pointsettas

I layered the winter branch die with some cuts from additional branch dies along the bottom right corner. Then added the Curly Poinsettias on top. I took a clear wink of stella glitter marker and added some glitter accent on the flowers. I finished everything off by adding in some enamel dots and gems. Once everything was finished and dry I added my daughters name using gold glitter foam thickers.

It’s a good idea to have a few ready made tags like this one on hand. Adding a name is easy and fast and it really makes a quickly put together gift that much more special!

Super fast 5 minute/5 products Christmas Card

Hi Pickle Pals!

5 products and 5 minutes and you have one adorable Christmas card (or make it any kind of celebration card). I was looking to mass produce quite a few cards without using a ton of product and have it go fast. I was inspired by the Die-Namites Beautiful Bow die. After digging through my scrap holiday paper I had the perfect idea. Making a wrapped package look type of card!

All you need is:

  • Cardstock
  • Patterned paper on a smaller scale (6×6 paper pads work perfect for this)
  • Adhesives (pop dot and other fav adhesive)
  • Scissors
  • Beautiful Bow Die-Namites die

I cut a strip of red cardstock, cut out my Beautiful Bow in the same cardstock, and cut a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than my card base.

I glued a piece of the strip of red cardstock on either corner of the card and trimmed up the edge. Then I added the die cut in the upper right corner with a pop-dot. I also chose to add a little gem in the center of the bow but it looks just as pretty without. Once that is done, simply adhere the card front to the base and its done! Simple yet beautiful. Try some metallic papers for a more elegant look. You could even turn this idea into a lovely filler card for pocket style scrapbooking or your December Daily.

Happy Crafting!
