Tuesday Planner Love!

Hi Friends & Happy Tuesday!

It’s Lisa here today to share this week’s planner layout. Planners are on trend in the Paper crafting community. The Crafty Pickle’s shop will be opening back up soon. Be sure to check out all of the planner goodies in The Crafty Pickle’s new inventory. It’s a planner’s dream!!

TCP1

For this layout, I was inspired by the new goodies in The Craft Pickle Shop. I covered all of the lines on the page using The Crafty Pickle’s thin glitter Washi Tape. This defines the boxes and makes it fun!! The Crafty Pickle just introduced the Sticky Pickle Spot Stickers. These are so awesome to accent important appointments or to just decorate with. They come in asterisks, stars, hearts and circles.
TCP2

Adding any of the Relish Mixes to your planner gives a fun, sparkly and thin embellishment. These come in all colors, I used the Rock Candy Mix and are super easy to attach. I used a dot of Glossy Accents to attach them. Who doesn’t love sequins???!!!
TCP3

I used the Project Life Everyday Line paper pad & cardstock stickers to accent my layout. I cut triangles & rectangles to accent the planner boxes which adds some color and texture to the pages.

tcp4tcp5

I also attached a “This Month” planner clip! The Crafty Pickle has come out with personalized clips that are adorable!! I used the planner clip to “bookmark” my week. That makes it super easy to grab my week!

Documenting Disney

Hey you guys!

I’m back with a Disney Project Life share today!

IMG_6667

This was the second Disney section if you will in my PL albums. I’m not a big mini album girl so I like to have a special place in my albums of special trips.

IMG_6669

I was excited to finally use the customized flair from the shop. It reads “Montreuil Family Vacation” and it’s perfect! This is the second page in my documenting. The first page is always about the planning which is key with a family of 7 🙂

I put a little washi on the top of the pocket and aded some sequins from the shop along with a few die cut hearts and a castle.

IMG_6670

I used a little glitter tape and a sticky spot to showcase our checking in picture. I also used the card key envelope from the hotel to hide journaling and the actual key. I always include ephemera from our trips.

Fauxbonichi meets TCP!

Hey guys!

It’s Marisa again with another fun project using TCP products!

This time I went outside the box..big time. But in a good way. Like I LOVE it good way.

I love documenting my life, especially the part with the 7 of us in it. I scrapbook, do Project Life and also love art journaling and mixed media. Well I added a new way to remember all the details of our crazy yet awesome days!

Enter my fauxbonichi. My knock-off of a Hobonichi. You can Google it. Or go on Instagram and ooh and ahh over how creative people can be in journaling their daily life. I know I did 🙂

faux

I wanted to see if I could incorporate my CP products in this newfound love of mine.

I did just that.

I wanted to make a band to keep my soft bound leather book closed. Keep the pages safe. The cover gets pretty dinged up.

I took the magnetic interchangeable piece from the shop that said Marisa’s Pretty Planner and temporarily altered it. I used washi tape and a cute sticker, tied elastic cord on it and BAM Cutest button ever. I also like using the This Week planner clip to mark where I am. Not just for planners anymore!

IMG_6348

IMG_6346

I used some cute washi from the shop to make a box for my Lister’s Gotta List daily challenge. Instead of using numbers on my list I used the Sticky Pickle Spots. Perfection.

IMG_6342

The Relish Mix sequins in the shop work perfectly in my spread. They lay completely flat and add no extra bulk to my book. As much as I love chunky journals, this is one I want to keep on the flatter side. I used some star Pickle Spots as well.

IMG_6345

The road washi was spot on for my story about my trip to Mike’s! Those Pickle Spots are really growing on you aren’t they? You’re welcome.

IMG_6343

I’m so happy I busted out my products and made them work. Most of all I’m happy it added fun pops of color and helped me tell the story of my day.

Check out my video to hear a few stories of how fun and unpredictable my days can be! Oh and to see the goodies up close 😉

Back to School

Hey there it Treasa with another Project Life Kids post.

I can’t believe how fast the summer has gone by and that school starts this week. My granddaughter Kaylee will be going into the second grade and I wanted to create something I could use in my PL album to document this exciting time. I wanted to not only document the normal things, like first day of school photo, teachers name and school. I wanted to capture a piece of Kaylee during this time. So I created a card for her to fill out to capture some aspects of her life right now. To keep it personal I had a personalized flair made with her name and her grade. I thought it was the  perfect finishing touch. Here is what I came up with:

Back to school 2015I created a file pocket to kind of represent the files kept in the cabinet at school and added some of the star washi tape from the shop to the front of the file pocket. I added a card that says Star Student, this will be a place to put her first day of school photo on. Then I added a Friends card for her to add her friends names. I also used some of the new star and heart Sticky Pickle Spots from the shop. And then on the bus die cut I put her bus number. Finishing it off I used the personalized flair from the shop that says “Kaylee Grade 2”.

Back to school 2015aI have to say that Kaylee loves contributing to my memory keeping in my PL album and it definitely  it more personal to me.

Back to school 2015bBack to school 2015c

I hope this inspires you to get the children in your life more involved in your PL album.

Turn your art into your own custom flair embellishments!

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I wanted to share with you something new and exciting in our Etsy shop! Starting today, you now have the option to create your very own flair buttons in two different ways!

Make your own custom flair buttons with your artwork, stamps, washi, photos, and more @ TheCraftyPickle.com

First, you will need to download our TCP Flair template (found HERE) then print the template on your favorite paper. I used Neenah solar white 80 lb cardstock but anything 80 lb or lighter will work.

Make your own custom flair buttons with your artwork, stamps, washi, photos, and more @ TheCraftyPickle.com

Then gather together all the supplies you would like to use to create your flair. You can use different types of coloring mediums, stamps, washi tape, anything smooth and flat will work.

Now for the FUN part! Doodle and color your heart out! Hand letter some phrases for your project life album.  Customize monograms or personalized buttons for gifts. Create cute page markers and charms for your planners. Use your favorite stamps (even digi stamps if your handy with photoshop) to create a unique embellishment! Little planner stamps work perfect for this project and most stamp sets have small images that are an inch or smaller. Make sure that you keep your artwork in the center circle, the rest will be cut off when making the flair.

Once you are finished creating your little 1 inch works of art, Cut down the sheet so that it will fit in the envelope you are using. Keeping two or more circles per cut is preferred but not required.

Go to our Etsy store listing HERE to order the amount and type of buttons you would like. If there is a different amount you are wanting than what is listed in our shop just send a custom order request and we can adjust the totals for you. Once you place your order we will send you the mailing address to send your artwork to.

Once we receive your artwork we will send you a confirmation email so you know we have it in hand. We will then cut and create your flair for you and then ship it back. Remember that if you are requesting traditional flat backed flair you will get our signature low profile flat flair style making them perfect for projects that you don’t want to add a lot of bulk.

Usual turn around time is 2-3 business days (sometime sooner) If a rush is needed please check before completing your purchase so we can make sure we can accommodate your request.

Remember, not only can you create traditional flat backed or pin backed flair buttons, but there is other options as well!

Flair / Button options @thecraftypickle.com

I did mention that there was TWO new listings to create your own custom flair. The next option is super easy. Simply grab your favorite papers, Journaling cards, and scraps. Make sure they are NO SMALLER than 2 inches by 2 inches. Pop those papers in an envelope and once you complete your purchase though our store we will send you the mailing address to send these papers in. You can find this shop listing HERE.

We will then turn your collection of papers, cards, and/or scraps into your made to match embellishments! This is a great way to get unique flair to match your favorite paper lines and core kits.

What do you think? Sound like fun? Download the template and give it a try, There is no cost until you actually purchase the package you want to order. It is so much fun seeing something you create yourself made into a fun embellishment or accessory.

CTMH Storage solutions: 6×6 paper, Thickers, and Washi Tape.

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been a while since I have blogged. We all got hit with that horrible cold which seemed to consume most of January. Since recouping from that I took on the task of reorganizing and transforming my loft space of my home into my crafty studio. It has taken a few weeks and there is still much more to be done but I am really happy with how things have came out. I hope to be able to do a craft room tour very soon!

Today I wanted to share with you how I am now organizing my 6×6 paper, my washi tape, and how I plan on organizing all of my thickers. I felt that doing a little video would explain better than a few pictures.  Take a look!

I hope you found the video helpful. Hopefully you are inspired to organize your pretty paper things too!

If you missed my previous video on how I organize all of my project life cards by color you can see that video on my previous post here.

If you have any questions please feel free to comment here or send me an email (button on the right hand side of my blog)

If you would like to purchase a CTMH organizer or any Close to my Heart products you can do so on my CTMH website HERE. The link directly to the organizers is HERE.

If you are looking for the free cut file I made specifically for the CTMH cases to help organize your Project Life cards you can find that post HERE.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy organizing!

December Daily: Days 1 to 6

Happy Holidays!

I hope all of you are enjoying the season so far and have been keeping up with your December Daily albums or Journals. I wanted to share a little bit of my album today. I have up to day# 5 complete. (warning this post is kind of photo-heavy). For my 2013 December Daily I am using the Merry and Bright Kit from Whimsical Twist. I am also using items I have collected from this year and previous years as well as die cuts from my Silhouette. If you have any questions on products used please let me know.

December Daily 2013 Title page TheCraftyPickle.com

For my title page I did it in three separate page protector layers.  For the First layer I printed a title using Ali Edwards digital brushes on a transparency and placed that in the page protector

DD Title page 1st Layer | TheCraftyPickle.com

For the second layer I took a transparency and two silhouette die cuts (out of the silhouette printable gold foil) and adhered them on the transparency back to back. After sliding that into the page protector I sprinkled sequins on either side and sewed the protector closed.

Title page layer #2 | TheCraftyPickle.com

Title page layer 2 | TheCraftyPickle.com

For the Third and final layer of the Title page(s) I cut a piece of American Crafts POW glitter paper and slid that in the protector, On top of that was another transparency that I printed on the bottom.

December Daily title page layer 3 | TheCraftyPickle.com

The next page I kept really simple.

December Daily calender page. | TheCraftyPickle.com

Day one:

For the card on the bottom left, I stamped in white ink and then I went over the stamped areas with a white chalk pencil to give it a better chalkboard effect.

Day Two:

For the middle layer  I used a 6×8 page protector  and sewed the bottom portion shut with sequins, glitter, and heat embossed wood veneer stars (Studio Calico Printshop stars) Then I slipped the two photos back to back on the top.

Advent Pocket in December Daily Album | TheCraftyPickle.com

This year I decided to incorporate our advent Calender within our December Daily album. You will see these pockets throughout my album. The little circles are special chalkboard paper. I stamped the number in white prima Chalk ink. (the Advent Kit that I used can be found HERE)

I printed our advent activities on a piece of shimmer cardstock and then sewed them to the tag that I had cut down to fit the bag. I also did some heat embossing on the tags as well.

Day Three & Four:

Day Three:

Day Four:

Day Five:

December Daily Day 5 | TheCraftyPickle.com

I had a lot of fun working on Day 5. Lots of digital stamping on the photos using files from Ali Edwards @ Designer Digitals, Ali Edwards/Technique Tuesday Stamps, and the Pine Wreath Die from Die-Namites Dies.

December Daily Day 5 | TheCraftyPickle.com

For the Tree embellishment I used the Pine Wreath die from Die-Namites dies which you can find HERE. I made 12 cuts of the die and one tree base out of the same card stock. I cut off all of the pine branches from the die cut shapes and made a pile. Then I took some clear liquid adhesive and squeezed a bit out on a scrap piece of card stock. I dipped the bottom part of the pine branch in the glue and started layering from the outside of the tree base inward. After everything was completely dry I added some clear and white gems (Michael’s brand and Studio Calico) To see more photos of this embellishment visit the Die-Namites blog HERE.

Day Six:

For day 6 I kept things super simple. I took cards that were included in the Merry & Bright Kit and embellished the tree card with some sequins and glitter pen accents. Sticker letters are also from the kit. There are a handful of kits still available and you can find them HERE on sale for $35!

That wraps up this round of December Daily Pages. I should be back next week to share another handful of pages.

Happy Autumn Friends!

Taniesa's Bucket List @ WhimsicalTwist.com

I am so excited to share with you today the beginning of my Autumn album! I was first going to do a 6×6 mini bucket list album but I have “Fall”en in love with so many gratitude albums I have seen and the Gratitude.documented concept that Shanna Noel has started that I decided to expand to a 6×8 album. This is my first year doing a mini album for Fall and so far I love it! I am thinking about adding to the same album next year but it will depend on how full this one gets. I decided to use the Simple Stories Faux leather 6×8 album which matches my 12×12 black We R Memory Keepers albums for my project life this year. I wanted to dress it up a bit though so I decided to add a few charms that reminded me of Autumn and family.

Here is a look at the album cover/spine.

It was really simple. I just wrapped around some bakers twine and hemp twine where the front cover met the spine of the album and tied on some pretty charms I found while collecting some autumn supplies.  The label for the album is a ticket in Kraft that I cut down to fit. I took white sticker letters and colored them with a copic marker to get the watercolor like effect.

For the first page I took brown woodgrain cardstock and cut out the framed “gratitude” from a cut file I created with my Silhouette software. The second page is shimmery cream cardstock with the adorable Logo from Shanna Noel’s Gratitude.Documented.

Next page shows off my family’s Bucket list for this Fall. I cut the apple basket , apples and title from my Silhouette all out of cream colored cardstock and then colored them all in using my Copic markers. I wrote out the list using a typewriter font and cut them in strips. I sewed those along the left lower side and to finish off the page added a little Whimsical Sequins for a bit of shimmer. (Silhouette Design ID #47269 used for the apple basket and the font for the title is Jenna Sue)

I did want to prep a few pages for the busy days I won’t have a lot of time to scrapbook. I am sure I will move things around as I develop my photos. The papers and embellishments I am using throughout my album is the Basic Gray Persimmon collectionthe Family Traditions line from Websters pages, and some embellishments from My Minds Eye. I really love the combination of the oranges and browns mixed in with the navy and baby blues. I am also adding in some Project Life cards, Pre-cut cardstock, Prima wood accentsHey Kid sticker labels from Pink PaisleyWhimsical Twist sequins, and some other items from my stash to add texture and color.

Here are a few of the “put together ahead of time” pages I have done so far.

For this next page I decided to make a partial transparent divider type of page using some sequins and Prima wood disks. I just sewed the two pockets closed. I will add a filler card or photo in the other two spots.

Taniesa's Gratitude album @ WhimsicalTwist.com

One of our bucket items is to make our own Halloween costumes this year. My little girl decided to be a traditional witch this year so I set these two pages aside to show off her costume and a photo of her trick-or-treating. I love the little whimsical sacks to hold tags for journaling!

One of the key things with this project as well as any seasonal Mini album project is to simplify and organize. Some items in my craft space I keep where I always keep them but sometimes it helps me if I pull together the collection of items I might want to use for the project. Looking at all the Autumn product together is very inspiring for me. Some things that I have done to help myself along is pre-cut my cardstock in 4×6 and 3×4 pieces, take my 6×6 papers and put them in a 6×6 clear iris plastic box to flip through quickly, Take a binder clip and clip together like items (sticker letters, enamel dots and gems, labels, sticker embellishments, stamps, etc), and put little items like sequins in the color combo that I will be using and wood veneer in small containers for easy access (bead containers from your local craft store work great for this).

I hope you enjoyed my little preview into my Autumn album. I will be back for this series next month to show you my near completed album!

One little bit of exciting news today is that all Basic Gray and My Minds Eye product is now on sale at 20% off in the Whimsical Twist shop!!! The sale lasts from now until November 3rd .
