Trinity Stamp’s Winter Release is here!

Trinity Stamps Blog Hop Banner

I am So excited to tell you that Trinity Stamps has finally released another fabulous line of Stamps, Dies, and LOTS of embellishments. There are also lots of new shop items added (plus more coming this week!).

If you don’t already know, we started the new release off with a blog hop on Friday and the fun is still happening! If you are coming to my blog for the first time be sure to click the links at the bottom of my post to go through both days of blog hop inspiration. Don’t forget to comment along the way because, friends…. there is prizes, FIVE of them. All of them are worth at least $25 (and some a lot more) Winner will be announced HERE on November 10th!

Now on with the show…

Today I am playing with our new Magical Wizards stamp set, a few stamps from the Wizard Friends set, Magical sentiment stamp set, magical sentiment die set, and the stars from the stand-alone castle builder die set. I am also incorporating some sentiments from Caffeinated Sentiments.

I was inspired by a Starbucks gift card I found. I thought it was absolutely perfect to pair with the Trinity Magical Wizards + Series.

So I started coloring the wizard’s head from Magical Wizards, and then one of the robes from wizard friends. I did some simple copic coloring and because I didn’t want white showing around my image, I opted to fussy cut instead of die cut. I cut the body off except for a piece that will glue behind the robe. I attached the two pieces with my Nuvo Smooth Precision glue and voila! Wizard is (almost) card ready!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release9

I had made a green background by blending some various shades of Distress Oxide ink and then to make a floor to ground our character, I blended some ink into cardstock then ran it through a WRMK woodgrain embossing folder. I tried doing this with markers and drawing the floor in but it was taking away from my wizard scene too much so this was a much more subtle option.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release10

I put some foam tape on the back of the wizard and set him and the floor piece aside.

Then came the embossing. I took several colors of WOW embossing and embossed all of the star, sparkle, and shine images from all three sets (Magical Wizards, Wizard Friends, and Magical Sentiments). As I was making my way through the swirl of stars and swooshes, I die cut different sizes of hearts from the Castle Builder die set.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release11

once all the stamping and embossing was done, I took a damp rag and went along the stary magic trail and gave it even more texture. There were a few spots that still needed something so I took my embossing pen and added some dots here and there.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release2

I added a sentiment from Caffeinated Sentiments, one of my personal fave… it was so appropriate given the fact a gift card was going inside.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release3

I added a little Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer pen by Nuvo to the red part of the robe the wizard is wearing and I even embossed his wand gold.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release1

Such a fun card right. I made the card 3×6 to fit these gold envelops I picked up at my local stamping store. I like the fun size, a nice change from the A-2 cards I usually make… But wait, there’s MORE!

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release5

Remember about that gift card I was telling you about? Bam! you’re magical! how perfect is THAT! I did a little stamp surgery so that I could make the sentiment ” Coffee and friends make a magical blend) In the Caffeinated sentiments, there is one that says Coffee & Friends make the perfect blend. All I had to do was snip off the make and the blend.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release7

I stamped the first part directly to the card and the make a & Blend was stamped on a strip of white cardstock and then cut. I die cut the two layers of the magical sentiment die set (you can also use the stamp set to stamp in that shadow layer die) I glued those pieces to a very simple gold glitter pocket I made to hold the card.

Taniesa Vlasak for Trinity Stamps Winter Release6

Starbucks usually has fun seasonal and celebratory gift cards and so does a lot of other places, especially this year. How much fun is it to receive a gift inside a handmade card (which is a gift also!) Now is a great time to make a few of these types of cards to have on hand when you need to gift a card to someone.

Essentials by Ellen and Honey Bee Stamps!

Hi Friends!

Today I am combining some of my favorite stamps and dies from Honey Bee Stamps and Ellen Hutson!

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

I might have gone on a bit of a crafting spree lately, I was having so much fun with the new releases from both companies (and some of their older releases as well) and, well, tis the season for crafting!

The first project I have for you today is a fun card using Chibitronics lights! This card features the Merry and Bright stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps as well as the Essentials by Ellen Fat Pants stamp and dies (ornaments), Poinsettia and pine dies(Pine branch), Mistletoe and Holly stamp set(pine branch), Merry and bright stamp set (lightbulb), and the Bokeh dots stamp set for the background. (All products linked at the end of the post)

Here is the card with the lights off:

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

and the card with the lights on (you just remove the little paper that says “pull” and they turn on)

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

Using the Chibitronics was a lot easier than I had expected and it was so much fun making a card that lit up!

Next I have a couple of DIY Gifts that would be great for your holiday gift giving.

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

These were both SO simple and so quick to make. For the wine basket I purchased the decorative basket from Michael’s craft store for under $5. I heat embossed the Essentials by Ellen Fat Pants sentiment from the Fat Pants stamp set and tied the tag around the top of the basket with some red twine. Popped in a bottle of wine with some tissue and now its all set for a quick holiday gift.

Know someone with a sweet tooth? Try filling a mason jar with candy like I did with my snowman jar here. I just took a piece of cardstock and did some simple ink blending around some snowy hills. I stamped some snowflakes from the Honey Bee Stamps Flakey Friends stamp set. From the same stamp set I stamped out the snowman and die cut him with the coordinating dies. For the tag I heat embossed the sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen Holly Jolly stamp set and tied the tag around the jar with some Doodlebug twine. I think this would make a great gift for a teacher or coworker.

Next up is a fun way to present a coffee gift card. This cute little bear is from the Essentials by Ellen All inside stamp set (and matching die). I gave him a big cup of coffee from the Oh Frappe set and popped him on an action wobbler so he bounces inside the MFT decorative circle cut out. I stamped the background with the same stamp set and the sentiment is a combination from this stamp set and the new Honey Bee Stamps Sending You sentiments.

Here is the outside and the inside of the card:

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

For the inside, I stamped the”just for you” and hearts from the Sending you stamp set and heat embossed with WOW rich pale gold embossing powder. I cut the largest heart from the Essentials by Ellen Folk heart die set and put a bit of temporary adhesive on the gift card and stuck it to the stamped heart. I Glued that to the back of the card and with adhesive on either ends of the strip I laid that over the gift card. I think these are great to have on hand, especially around the holidays for quick gifts!

Another great thing to have on hand is some gift bags. I Love the WRMK Gift bag punch board and I thought that the Essentials by Ellen leaping deer die would make the perfect window for a gift bag.

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

This was another very easy to make project. I cut the bag according to the punch board directions and before I adhered anything I die cut the front of the bag with the leaping deer die. I stamped and heat embossed the JOY sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Merry and Joy sentiment builder stamp set. I took a piece of vellum and glued it to the inside of the bag, creating a little window. I finished off the bag with some sequins and that ribbon you see was a gift in my last Ellen Hutson order! They are just so sweet!

I made about 20 versions of the card you will see below. Normally I would shy away from making cards that need masking for a mass-produced card but I discovered a great way to make masks last which made the whole project easy peasy! Want to learn more about this tip and how I made this card? Check out the post in the Ellen Hutson Classroom HERE

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

I also created a fun die cut inlay card with the new Honey Bee Stamps Thanks and giving die set. You can see that card and more on the Honey Bee Stamps blog HERE, but below is a sneak peek!

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

Whew! That was a lot of projects to share! I am so glad you kept on reading because one lucky reader is going to win a $50 gift certificate to EllenHutson.com! How do you win? Easy Peasy! Leave a comment here, then pop on over to the Ellen Hutson classroom and leave a comment there too and another stop to HoneyBeeStamps.com and leave a comment there and you are entered to win!

Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairy Friends Shaker Card for KatScrappiness.com

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I am guest designing over at the Kat Scrappiness blog and shop and I am super excited to share this fun shaker card!

Adding texture to Christmas tree die cuts | Taniesa Vlasak for KatScrappiness.com

I absolutely love Kat’s exclusive dies. The stitched tree was just perfect to have the Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairies decorate!

Adding texture to Christmas tree die cuts | Taniesa Vlasak for KatScrappiness.com

To make the shaker I used the two largest double stitched rectangle dies in the set. I just nested them together and used a bit of tape to make sure they stayed in place. I die cut my cardstock frame, the acetate, and the foam as well! Came together super quick!

Adding texture to Christmas tree die cuts | Taniesa Vlasak for KatScrappiness.com

I used several shades of blue distress ink for my background and colored the cute little fairies with copic markers. Not a lot of shading was needed because they are small. I went over their wings and other details with a glitter pen after I was done coloring.

Adding texture to Christmas tree die cuts | Taniesa Vlasak for KatScrappiness.com

To get some texture on the absolutely fabulous stitched tree I used the small pine spring in the Frosty Fairy friends set and did some second (and third) generation stamping. You can see more on that in this little quick tip video.

I added my favorite white, blue and clear sequins from Kat’s shop in the shaker, I didn’t add a lot because I didn’t want it to take away from the decorated tree.

This card came together in a snap and I just love how it turned out. It is easy enough to mass produce and if you wanted to skip the shaker part it could come together even faster.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I am excited to be guest designing for Kat Scrappiness and I will have more fun projects for you soon! Check out Kat’s store at http://www.katscrappiness.com and for direct links to products used today see the links below.

The 30 day coloring challenge (5th edition!)

Hi Friends!

As a lot of you probably know this past 30 days has been The Daily Marker’s 30 day coloring challenge. It was the 5th 30 day coloring challenge that has been hosted by its creator, Kathy, artist and owner of TheDailyMarker.com. The point of this challenge is to get everyone coloring, even if it’s just 5 minutes a day. Coloring can help reduce stress and just exercise your creativity.

Now I have attempted this almost every time and sadly haven’t been able to follow through on the entire 30 days, which is completely okay… Some coloring is better than none right? This time though I was able to manage something nearly every¬†single day of the 30 days and I wanted to pull some of my coloring¬†together in one big post to share. Some projects spanned over a couple of days and some I did in one sitting. I had a lot of fun and even my 10-year-old daughter did some coloring with me too!

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

Taniesa Vlasak | TheCraftyPickle.com

I challenged myself to use several different coloring mediums. I really enjoy them all so it is hard to pick a favorite. Here is a peek at my some of my coloring and projects.

Hello Santa!

Hi Crafty Friends! It’s Lisa here today from Happy Paper & Ink¬†to share a new Project Life card that I created. I am¬†doing some preparation for my¬†December Daily album, so that is what inspired me to create this card.

 tcp22

For this card, I started with Pink Paislee Merry & Bright¬†6×6 paper pad. I cut a tag and a 4×6 project life card from the paper pad. I then¬†cut strips of paper for the side border¬†to add some¬†interest.¬†I cut a snowflake tag¬† on white and red paper using my Silhouette Cameo.¬†I also cut the title using gold glitter vinyl and my Silhouette Cameo for the title “Hello¬†Santa”. ¬† I doodled around all the edges with a black 0.8 American Crafts Black Pen and inked with black Memento Ink.

tcp23

To finish off the¬†card, I used¬†The Crafty Pickle’s¬†Black & White Color Pop Flair¬†and applied it to the top of the snowflake tag. I added some sequins to the corner of the card¬†from The Crafty Pickle. Adding any of the Relish Mixes to your¬†layout or cards¬†gives a fun, sparkly and thin embellishment. These come in all colors, I used the Magical Mouse¬†mix for this card. I layered the sequins and put red glitter stickle dots on top of some of the sequins to change the look a little. And finally, I tied a bow at the top of the snowflake tag to tie it all together!

tcp21

I hope you enjoyed my Project Life card & are inspired. Look for some more blog posts showing my December Daily in the future!

Thanks for looking & Happy Crafting!

December Daily – The Joy of Christmas!

Hi Crafty Friends! It’s Lisa here today from Happy Paper & Ink¬†to share a new Project Life card that I created. I am in the beginning stages of working on my December Daily album, so that is what inspired me to create this card.

IMG_6989

For those of you not familiar with December Daily, Ali Edwards created it to document the days of your December. Basically, you do a page for each day spotlighting the activities of the day to include your family traditions, etc. This will be my first year to do this, and I am super excited!

For this card, I started with Pink Paislee Merry & Bright¬†6×6 paper pad. I cut a tag and a 3×4 project life card from the paper pad. I then used The Crafter’s Workshop Positive Stencil¬†and texture paste to create the black cross or plus signs on the paper to add some dimension and interest in the corners. I doodled around all the edges with a black 0.8 American Crafts Black Pen and inked with black Memento Ink.IMG_6987

To finish off the top of the card, I used¬†The Crafty Pickle’s¬†Black & White Color Pop Flair¬†and wrapped a ribbon around it. I added some sequins from The Crafty Pickle. Adding any of the Relish Mixes to your¬†layout or cards¬†gives a fun, sparkly and thin embellishment. These come in all colors, I used the Magical Mouse¬†mix for this card.

IMG_6988

The title on the card is made by using American Crafts cardstock stickers and American Crafts Be Merry Red Thickers Alphabet.

I hope you enjoyed my Project Life card & are inspired to start a December Daily! Look for some more blog posts showing my December Daily in the future!

Thanks for looking & Happy Crafting!

“Make It Merry” with Close to My Heart Stamp Set

Hi, Joann here today sharing two Christmas cards that I made using the Close to My Heart ¬†“Make It Merry” stamp set.

Here is my first card…

I used CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge to cut my tag, which coordinates with this stamp set. I took CTMH Pear and Topiary Inks to stamp my image onto my tag (I tried to create an ombre effect, it’s acutally a bit more noticeable in person). I cut a piece of vellum a bit smaller than my colored card stock and then tied some ribbon to my top panel before gluing it down to my card base.

I finished it off by adding a bell to a bow I tied, scattered a few TCP Relish Mix and popped my label on some foam adhesive to add a bit more dimension to my card. That is all for this card!

Now my next card is mimicking a card that I posted on my blog a few days ago. I loved how it turned out, I did make a few changes to make it a little different.

Here it is…

I took some stitched circle dies I have to cut my circles out of some pattern paper. I stamped my sentiment, also from “Make It Merry“, onto some vellum with VersaMark and heat embossed it with some black embossing powder.

I drew some white lines and then glued my circles down, adding some dimension to 2 of them.  I scattered some tone on tone TCP Relish Mix to match with the pattern paper. Super easy and simple!

Well that is all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by!
