MISTI

I have the MISTI tool and have had it for almost a month. I had planned on doing a review of the MISTI but Lisa Babitz from Iplayedwithpapertoday.wordpress.com has a wonderful review that I agree with 100%. If you haven’t seen the MISTI you must check it out!

I Played With Paper Today!

MISTI

I must confess that I am a bit of a “craft tool addict” and get much pleasure in purchasing and trying out all the latest tools and gadgets that I can get my hands on.  I see a project I like, and I immediately check out the supply list and the tools that were used!  Anyway, I recently discovered a tool that looked very interesting.  (Thanks for sharing this, Verna!)  It is called the MISTI (Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented).

MISTI

Very briefly, you use this by placing your stamp (clear or red rubber cling) to the acrylic lid.  The paper is placed on the black foam (or in that section with the foam removed).  When the stamp is inked up and the lid is closed, the stamp comes in contact with the paper and your image is produced.  If you open the lid and close it again, the stamp…

Happy 8th Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today designer, Stephanie is showing a birthday card she made for her son. Take a look!

Hey y’all! Hope your Thursday is going well. We had some ice & schools were closed yesterday so I am playing catch-up today!
Tomorrow is Ty’s 8th birthday so I made him a card. I wanted to keep it somewhat simple since he is a boy & doesn’t appreciate frills!

I started with the slate blue cardstock & added the plaid paper on top. This was in my scraps box from long ago!

I used the “Happy Birthday” flair from The Crafty Pickle. It is from their Birthday button flair set. The set includes 4 flat-backed buttons that are perfect for birthday crafting!

The sequins on my card is also from The Crafty Pickle. It is the winter sequins mix. I just love the little snowflakes! The cardstock snowflake was punched with my Marvy punch.
Taniesa has a bunch of new flair & sequins in the shop! Be sure to stop by & stock up!! These cold, snowy winter days are the perfect time to craft!

Take care,
~Stephanie

Thanks Stephanie! I always have a hard time with those masculine cards, this is great!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today designer, Joann is sharing an adorable birthday card she made for her mom. Check it out!

Hi! I’m so happy that you have stopped by!

Today I am sharing a birthday card with you…

As I mentioned in one of my previous post, I recently purchased the CTMH Artbooking Cricut collection and one of the many reasons was the overlay images.  I love stencils and modeling paste and thought that it would be fun to be able to create some of my own stencils and size them to whichever size I wanted.

Here is a look at how the image on page 53 turned out when I took some transparency and cut the image at 5 inches creating my own stencil…

I just placed my stencil on my card base and applied the modeling paste right on top. It was so easy and I was really happy with the results and the best thing is that I can reuse my stencil…woohoo! There are so many great images on this cartridge, I’m telling you, it’s a must have.

I took some watercolor paper and used my cricut and the Artbooking cartridge to cut the circle swirl image from pg 55, the tag from pg 83, and the happy birthday image from pg 86.  I stamped a butterfly image using the CTMH Sweet Moments stamp set on my tag with some white embossing powder. I then used CTMH Inks Lagoon and Cotton Candy, to water-color my images by adding some ink on a clear block and then taking some water and a brush to pick up the color and adding it to my images creating a ombre look.

To finish off my card I added a beautiful flair from the Family Themed Flair. These are so nice and could be used to personalize any card or project for your loved one.

Hope you enjoyed and thanks again for stopping by and as always don’t forget to check out TCP Etsy shop to pick up some awesome flair. There are tons of great new items in the store!

                                                                      Supplies used:
Thanks Joann! I love the texture the modeling paste gives to the card and a great use of flair too!

Snow…. in California?

Hi Crafty Friends!

Happy New Year! I hope the holidays treated you well and that you’re off to a great 2015! Today, designer Carrie has a great first layout of 2015 showing her home in california covered in snow! It doesn’t happen often so this was a nice surprise! Check it out!

Happy New Year.  I can hardly believe it’s 2015.

Today I am sharing my first winter layout. This page will actually be at the end of my 2014 family album.  We had a rare snow fall where I live in Murrieta California.  It has not snowed here in ten years, and even then it was just a dusting.  We actually got about a foot of snow that lasted several days.

For this page I used a ton of beautiful shiny sequins from TheCraftyPicklethey came in the Winter Mix pack.    Can I just tell you that I am a bit obsessed with sequins right now. They are such an easy embellishment and very reasonably priced.  Easy to apply with a bit of liquid glue or mini glue dots.

Here is a closer look at some cards I created by embossing some snowflakes onto vellum and then adding a bit of shimmer watercolors.  I of course added some sequins to embellish these cards too.

When you order flair from Taniesa your flair is packaged with sequins/confetti in a glassine bag.

Its like a little party when you open the cute little package. I use these sequins all the time, they are the perfect accent to any project.

This glitter flair is perfect on my pages, adds that special touch I like to set the feeling I want to document.
Of course I had to add one of my new blue color pop flairs to this card. It matches my sequins too.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Happy Scrappin in the New Year

Carrie

Thanks Carrie! I LOVE your layout and I am a wee bit Jealous of your snow (we didn’t get any snow in my part of California).

A big thank you to all of my readers. You have made my journey with my blog and the growth of my business(s) so fun and so worthwhile for me. I appreciate each and every one of you!

Sketches and Sequins with Stephanie!

Hi Everyone!

Ever get in a creative slump? Designer, Stephanie, took a sketch and made it her own with accents of TheCraftyPickle sequins and some flair. Check it out!

Hey y’all! I hope this day is treating you well! We are fighting off colds around here & trying to get healthy for the New Year!

I have a post to share today featuring flair & sequins from The Crafty Pickle. I made a layout using this sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

Here is my page:

I started by stamping the circles on my cardstock. I then added strips of paper from my stash. I love, love, love using up scraps!!
The black & white striped paper is from Glitz & the multi-colored snowflake paper is from Imaginisce. The stars are from Pink Paislee & the journal card is from Pretty Little Studio.
Here is a closer look at the red & white flair button from TCP. I love how festive it is! I also love how well it matches the paper here from Elle’s Studio. You can get a good look at the Christmas sequins mix here too.
The crown is from Um Wow Studios & I misted it red then added some coarse glitter.
This arrow flair button is glittery & the perfect accent to my Christmas page!
There’s more of the yummy Christmas sequins & the ornament die cut is from Pink Paislee. My alphas are from Fancy Pants.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a crafty day!
